ACES ED PROGRAMS HELP CREATE THOUSANDS OF ECOLOGICALLY LITERATE STUDENTS EACH YEAR. Studies show that environmental science education has a significant positive impact on kids’ health and academic achievement. Schools with environmental education programs score higher on standardized tests in reading, writing, math, science, and social studies.

RENEWABLE ENERGY By 5th grade, students have comprehensive energy literacy and understand the importance of a renewable energy future.
PROGRAM DIVERSITY IN 2016 ACES Ed reaches a wide range of communities, cultures, socio-economic backgrounds, and ages. Over 2,700 ACES Ed classes in schools: weekly science lessons for all K-4 students in Aspen, Basalt, and Carbondale’s public elementary schools. Field Science Programs: hands-on science and field research programs at ACES’ sites and other locations in the Roaring Fork Valley. Science Explorers & Wild Writings: after-school enrichment programs for Basalt and Carbondale middle and elementary school students. Tomorrow’s Voices for the Environment: high school program offering college credit and focused on ethics, environmental leadership, and civic activism. Aspen Center for Environmental Studies is a non-profit environmental science education organization with four sites in the Roaring Fork Valley. ACES was founded in 1968 and has been providing environmental science education to K – 12 students for over 35 years.
