Haight Ashbury Community Nursery School Participation Requirements

Background

Workdays

The Haight Ashbury Community Nursery School (HACNS) is a community-based cooperative nursery school which has been providing an affordable preschool education for San Francisco families since 1974. We offer a positive, play-based environment, including enrichment such as music, dance, art, and regular field trips. Parent participation is a key aspect of our school. Parents work alongside our licensed teacher/director, Cocoa Drake, who has been at the school for more than 25 years and started out as a HACNS parent herself.

A parent is required to work one day per week from 8:45 a.m. – 1:15 p.m. Once a month each family is responsible for supplying a snack for all the children and parents on their workday, in addition to coordinating a project for the children.

HACNS does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin in the administration of its educational and admissions policies, scholarship and loan programs, and athletic and other school administered programs.

Program Details Monday – Friday, 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. (Late August – Mid June)

Tuition $325 per month
