UPDATE: (IRA) Membership Clerk Hello Gwa’sala-‘Nakwaxda’xw Nation! I am very happy to announce I will now be making appointments for Status Cards!  My hours and days for working in the membership will be every Tuesdays – Thursdays from 8am-4pm Those are the only days I will accept appointments. I will be charging a fee, for status $5.00 for Community members and anyone from other bands $20.00. Why do I charge a fee?        

What I make from the cards I can use for my supplies or if anything breaks. I will also take my time to fill out the forms and do my best to make sure your status card is right with no mistakes on it and to make sure you have the proper I.D’s. Any questions about my fee please give me a call, I am happy to answer any questions for you 

I work Monday-Wednesday-Friday as the Reception 8-4pm. For anyone who is inquiring about the newest Status Card that last for 10 years, you can go online to www.aadnc-aandc.gc.ca to download the forms, or if you are unable to get to a computer you can come here to the office and I can print one off for you, and questions for the forms I am also happy to help you answer them. Shout out to Todd Peacey!! Thank you so much for all your help, he came up on his own time with his own cards and supplies to show me ropes to doing status cards on November 27-28. To anyone who is asking why they heard nothing is because the list was very full and almost to full for the 2 day’s he was here, so I contacted who the ones on the list. No one has missed out, I will be here doing them on my own and will fit you in by appointment only. Thank you all for your time and patience this has been a long process but I am finally catching up with everything and learning a lot as I keep going  so you can now call to make an appointment, I have attached what is required I.D’S to get a status Card on to the next page. Hello everyone! There will be two more Good Food Bag days before the holidays on December 7 and 21. Just a reminder that your bags need to be picked up on the pick up date otherwise they will go to the next person on the waiting list. If you are not able to pick up your bag, you can contact me and arrange for someone to pick it up for you! I love trying different recipes so feel free to email me your ideas :) I will be starting the garden plan soon for the New Year and would love to hear your ideas or suggestions for that as well! Yo Wiksas? The Elder’s Program has been as busy as ever. We have been catering, having weekly luncheons and the Elder’s Council is giving a good kick start for December. Brian and I went clam digging for the Program. We were able to get 4 big buckets with help from Rolando. Brian, Richard and I stayed up until 3am shucking and cleaning them. We also gave have of it to Willie & Charlotte for the memorial feast they held for late Maria. Thank you Brian, Rolando & Richard for your help. There have been a great amount of Elders and guests coming to the luncheons. This is very great to see. The Elders really seem to enjoy themselves. We will discuss the Elder’s Christmas extravaganza plans at next week’s meeting. I hope to see you all there. We will be going clam digging again Thursday evening and leave by 7:30pm.
