THE CHALLENGE CWS-boco was looking for a logistics service provider to establish a European central warehouse in Switzerland. The aim was also to coordinate transports between suppliers, the central warehouse, and country organizations. The challenge: ● Handling procurement and distribution logistics
● Setting up a modern central warehouse ● At the start of the project: shaping warehouse designs and the flow of materials, implementing the infrastructure ● Taking in consideration the specific features of the highly varied articles of CWS-boco ● Complying with the various warehouse and customs regulations for the different product groups

THE SOLUTION Gebrüder Weiss set up a central warehouse for CWS-boco in Wil, Switzerland, which has a state-of-the-art warehouse infrastructure. All logistics processes are managed and organized here. The services at a glance ● Handling of transports from the suppliers to the central warehouse (procurement logistics) and from the central warehouse to the country organizations (distribution logistics) ● Setting up a logistics warehouse for the main supplier Noventa in Diepoldsau
● Setting up an interface to CWS-boco and Noventa, and thus central process management via the GW system ● GW takes charge of all customs clearance and documentation work for CWS-boco ● For deliveries from China and Pakistan (customs status “ZVE”): customs clearance directly on site

Transparency An interface to CWS-boco and the main supplier Noventa makes it possible for processes to be managed centrally via the GW system. The process workflow has become more transparent and less complex. All the necessary information can be provided at any time.
Cost savings The open bonded warehouse for goods from Pakistan and China enables customers to leave the goods stored there for as long as possible without paying duty until they are ready to be sent. Shipments are bundled by means of efficient cross-docking. This helps ensure competitive advantages and cost savings.
