NIKKI SCHUSTER Animadora y artista sonoro nacida en Austria en 1974. Vive y trabaja en Berlín. Sus películas se presentan con éxito en festivales internacionales de cine y exposiciones. En sus películas de animación combina stop-motion y animación 2D por computadora. Para diseñar sonidos crea muestras de ruidos a partir de materiales animados. Además de sus producciones cinematográficas colabora en producciones de teatro, televisión e instalaciones; imparte además talleres de animación. En 2010 fue artista residente en París y Buenos Aires, y en 2012 en Taipei por su proyecto cinematográfico “Recicladores”. Born in Austria in 1974, animation and sound artist Schuster lives and works in Berlin. Her films have had great success at international film festivals and exhibitions. Her animation films combine traditional stop-motion with 2D computer animation. For sound design, she samples noises created by the materials animated on the screen. In addition to her film productions, she does motion design for theatre, television and installations, and gives animation film workshops. In 2010, she was an artist-in-residence in Paris and Buenos Aires, as well as in Taipei in 2012, for her film project “Taipei Recyclers.”
TAIWÁN, AUSTRIA, ALEMANIA | 2014 | 7’ SIN DIÁLOGOS Taipei. Fantasmas y dioses, tifones y músicos Nakasi. En los escondites urbanos de esta pequeña ciudad las criaturas cobran vida. Están compuestos digitalmente con residuos recogidos de las calles y productos típicos de la zona. El ruido de las ramas de estas criaturas interactúa con los paisajes sonoros de Taipei. In the urban hideouts of Taipei, little creatures come to life, ghosts and gods, typhoons and Nakasi musicians, digitally composed of typical local products and waste collected from the streets.
