CAMP INAWENDIWIN • REGISTER ONLINE

Meet The Director My name is Christina, but my campers know me as “Turtle". This will be my 4th summer as Director at Camp Inawendiwin. My outgoing, energetic, creative personality shines through every day at camp; you'll often catch me singing a camp song or humming a country tune. To me, camp is all about FRIENDSHIP and creating an environment where girls are empowered to be themselves, motivate each other, and do amazing things. I can’t wait to see all my old friends and make new ones this summer. Visit me at Open House on April 15.

Camp Information Camp Inawendiwin is a sprawling 475-acre camp located in the Pine Barrens of Burlington County. Inawendiwin has many adventure trails that wrap around our Lower Lake and Friendship Creek. Adventures include hiking, archery, zipline, rockwall, a dip in the pool and, of course, canoeing on our lake.

CAMP SACAJAWEA RESIDENT & DAY CAMP IN NEWFIELD, NJ Called "Sacy" for short, our 186-acre property is nestled in the Pine Barrens of Gloucester County. Sacajawea is our Resident Camp specializing in overnight experiences. This year we are offering five and a half weeks of Resident Camp and two weeks of Day Camp. Come visit us at our Open House on April 29.

Who's That Director?! My name is Caitlyn, better known at Camp as "Arwen", and I am the Camp Director at Sacajawea. I have been spending my summers with my Sacy family for 18 years and have been a Girl Scout since 1995; I've also earned my Silver and Gold Awards. Over the years, I have had a blast taking risks, and learning how to take the lead. Sacy is the perfect place to express yourself, make new friends, and connect with nature. At camp, I have learned to appreciate the little things and the outdoors! I can’t wait to see all my old friends and make some new friends again this summer for all kinds of adventures! See you at Sacy!

What is Resident Camp?

Imagine a week-long getaway with your new best friends: 6 nights and 5 days of hiking, swimming, shooting arrows, and discovering new interests. Camp Sacajawea offers just that. The fun doesn't stop there - campers participate in "Girls Choice", an opporunity to pick their own daily adventure while building themselves into gogetters, innovators, risk takers and leaders. After hiking the Whisper Trail and connecting with fellow campers at Thursday campfire, our G.I.R.L.s come home with stories to share, a feeling of independence, and a love for the outdoors.

Bus Transportation Sacajawea Day Camp offers optional bus transportation with centralized stops made in an effort to shorten the bus ride. Routes may have to be adjusted based on registration. Actual pick up and drop off times will be sent the Thursday before your camper starts. The price for day camp transportation is $115 per girl per week.

Hey Parents.. . CampDoc CampDoc is an online health records management system that helps us consolidate camper health information into a centralized location. This system gives our medical staff access to camper health information, a key component in providing care. Guardians may access CampDoc.com 24/7 to make changes or updates to your camper’s health records. The site is secure, encrypted and password protected. •

Be sure to provide your primary email address with your camper’s registration to ensure direct access to the health management system.

You will receive a “Welcome E-mail” directly from CampDoc.com with account setup instructions to complete your camper’s health history and information.

Please include ALL medical conditions or special circumstances for your camper so we can best prepare for her arrival.

Upload any required documents to your CampDoc.com account. If you have trouble, call Customer Care at (856) 795-1560.

Girls attending resident camp must obtain a physician’s signature on the resident camp health form, downloadable from CampDoc or our website, www.gscsnj.org.

Camper Tips •

On your camper’s first day, please provide her with a name tag that states her first name & last initial, what her mode of transportation is (bus stop number if applicable), and her camp program.

From backpacks to water bottles, make sure that everything is labeled with your camper’s name. If something ends up in lost and found, we will know it’s hers.

If your camper has any medication, make sure to send them in the original bottles with clear instructions for our Health Supervisors. Don’t forget to label them.

Send your camper with a complete change of clothes and a rain poncho. Camp doesn’t stop for the rain. Closed-toes shoes and socks are a must at camp.

Have your camper wear a swimsuit to camp. This way she can cool off as soon as pool time starts.

No need to pack a snack. Our camps provide snacks for the campers during the day.

Leave those electronic devices at home. Our camps offer exciting opportunities to get girls outdoors and help them unplug.

Please do not send your camper if she is sick or doesn’t feel well - it’s better to have her stay home for a day so she feels better and can return soon.

CampDoc, Tips, and Extras

Picture Day All programs at our camps receive a group photo taken by a professional photographer on either Tuesday or Wednesday of each camp week. Pictures and patches are given out on Fridays and are the perfect way to remember friends and fun!

Camp Shirt All campers receive a camp t-shirt. Each summer there is a new design featuring all 3 summer camps, represented by their animal mascots. Campers attending multiple weeks should wear their t-shirt every camp photo day!

Cookout Day Camp cookouts occur once a week. You will receive more information about which day your camper will be cooking out earlier in the week. Campers can still bring their own lunch as a substitute. Menu choices take into account special diets, so there is something for everyone. Please make sure you include special dietary needs and restrictions on your camper’s health record in CampDoc.

Trading Post The Trading Post is our Girl Scout shop at camp. Girls can shop for a variety of plush animals, t-shirts, jewelry, fashion accessories, camping supplies, and more. Oak Spring & Inawendiwin Trading Posts are open several times a week. You will be notified when to send your camper with money (if you choose). Sacajawea’s Trading Post will be open during resident camper drop-off and pick-up.
