On March 18, 2014, the members of Greystone received confirmation that the Champions Tour would be coming back to Greystone… this time as a major event called the Regions Tradition. The Tradition will be played annually beginning in 2016 through 2018 on the Bob Cupp designed Founders Course, home of 14 previous Champions Tour events known as the Bruno’s Memorial Classic. On April 20, 2014, the membership received notification that over 96% of Equity Members approved the vote to move forward with the strategic building plans to expand and revitalize the Founders Clubhouse. The plans originated from results in the 2013 membership survey where members identified that they wanted an enhanced Fitness Center, a childcare area, a casual dining room/gathering bar, an updated ladies’ locker room, and a kitchen that would support an exceptional country club of the future. In order for this lower level renovation to begin, the Club would need to Greystone Golf & Country Club was the fabled home build a new golf operations center to house our fleet of of the Bruno’s Memorial Classic 1992-2005. golf carts. The new golf operations center would be located in the current cart staging area at Founders, and would also serve as a welcoming plaza. A tentative timeline of the project is on page 5. To prepare the course for the Regions Tradition in 2016, the Champions Tour design and construction team will be performing extensive work on at least nine of the Founders greens, completely refurbishing all bunkers, and installing a pipe in the landing area on number 5. All of the course work identified by the Champions Tour will begin on July 7, 2014 with a tentative completion date of September 30, 2014. During this course work, the Legacy Course will be available for golfers’ use every day except Monday. The information in this document is to assist you and your family during the 85 Days on the Path of Excellence. We know and understand that this will create some inconvenience for all. Please know that your patience and understanding is greatly appreciated. This is an amazing time for Greystone as we build for tomorrow! Sincerely,

Club President 2014

Q1: Who is paying for the Founders Course renovations? A1: In the Club’s negotiations with the Champions Tour, that was one of the items the Champions Tour agreed to fund. Q2: Why can’t we cut temporary greens at Founders and play? A2: This is an option, but after assessing the pluses and drawbacks, it was determined that creating temporary greens around the renovated greens would potentially delay the course renovation project past the tentative completion date of September 30th. Additionally, our members and staff may be at risk playing on the temporary greens (stepping in a hole, etc.). Q3: Who is overseeing the course work? A3: The Champions Tour will be overseeing all of the course, but our Director of Golf Course Operations, Jason Miller, will be working closely with the Champions Tour representatives. Also, an ad-hoc course committee will be used to assist Mr. Miller. Q4: Who is the architect for the Golf Operations Building? A4: Goodwyn Mills Cawood (GMC). We have been working with GMC for the past three years and they have a great understanding of our needs. Q5: Who will be overseeing the construction projects? A5: Hoar Construction has been hired to be the construction manager and KFP Inc, Member Frank Paduch’s company has been hired as the contractor. Hoar & KFP will bid out sub-contracts for the Golf Operations Building. Also, Calvin Bolling and team will be working closely with the construction team to facilitate the projects. Q6: Why are we closed on Mondays at Legacy? A6: There are several reasons. One reason is that the course, especially the greens, will need time to rest. The second reason is that the golf course maintenance staff needs uninterrupted time to perform necessary maintenance projects and tasks. The third reason is that with the additional play, we do not want to jeopardize the health of the Legacy greens. Q7: Will the guest policy be restricted at Legacy? A7: Yes, beginning July 12th, in-town guests cannot play on Saturdays and Sundays. Members are our priority. Q8: Are there any dates the Legacy Course be closed, besides Mondays, to members with golf privileges? A8: Yes, there is only one tournament, the Men’s Member-Member on July 12th and 13th when the course will be closed until 4:30 p.m. Q9: Will there be any events/activities at Founders to alleviate some of the traffic at Legacy? A9: Yes, the Food & Beverage Team has scheduled several events for families and adults. Please check your Wednesday E-News and the website calendar, greystonecc.com for information.
