“設計兩個月，布展兩個禮拜，展出兩天，撤展兩個小時，這是個帥不過三天的展覽。” ——時曉雨（藝術希望慈善基金會主席）

上這句話很好的總結了這一次由綠蘋果藝術中心 （GAAC）主辦，藝術希望慈善基金會（AHF）協辦 的“藝術交流計劃——非洲之旅 藝術樂享”活動。整個活動， 我們綠蘋果藝術中心從設計到籌辦，從布展到活動開幕花了各 位同學與老師們不少精力與時間，最終完美舉行這次的慈善活 動，雖然這是一個“帥不過三天的展覽”，但是展覽所承載所 有人的愛心會一直持續下去。我們總共籌得超過＄8500加元的 募款，並已全數捐給收益機構，幫助非洲孩子們享有更完善美 好的生活。 這次的活動，我們很榮幸邀請到溫哥華列治文市市長Malcolm Brodie 以及加拿大BC省兒童照護省務廳長同時也是本拿比市 Lougheed選區的省議員Katrina Chen (陳葦蓁)來臨參加我們 的活動並且上台致詞。在致詞後，他們更參與了我們的手掌牆 活動並簽名留念。 除了政治界的嘉賓，藝術界的嘉賓肯定必不可少：前國立台灣 藝術教育館－張俊傑館長、加拿大中華文化藝術總會—黃晚倫 會長、前加拿大中華文化藝術總會會長王海蘋女士，以及多位 中華文化藝術總會理事皆蒞臨會場參與開幕活動。特別感謝著 名華人藝術家張恆榮譽會長，王海蘋前會長、黃子玲老師以及 曾美珍老師等捐贈他們的藝術品進行拍賣，拍賣的款項將全部 捐獻給Sole Hope 和 Metro World Child 兩個慈善機構。張 恆榮譽會長在這次的活動中給予我們非常多的支持，除了捐出

他的書法進行拍賣和全家人到場支持之外，他的孫女兒Kayla Chan更是給我們活動進行了非常精彩的古箏表演。 國際藝術交流計劃——非洲之旅藝術樂享”是一個由學生自發 組織設計並完成的活動。從一進場的活動介紹、展覽場地平面 圖、手繪非洲風景到展覽區裡每個體驗區的場景設計和佈置整 理，甚至連開幕活動的主持與節目安排，都由藝術希望基金會 的一班學生們同心協力完成。 活動開幕式在12月16日中午12點半正式開始，先由綠蘋果藝術 中心的負責人江佳駿先生開幕致詞，以及由Tina Tsai提供的 關於非洲之旅的視頻拉開整個活動的序幕。在列治文市長Malcolm和本拿比Lougheed 區省議員Katrina上台致詞後，由我 們藝術希望慈善基金會的主席Linda以及各體驗區的負責人介 紹這次的活動以及每個體驗區的設計概念：在不久前，Metro World Child 的Tina以及她的一個團隊去到非洲的烏干達和肯 尼亞，通過與當地人的接觸，他們了解更加真實的非洲。儘管 語言不通，義工團隊可以從孩子們的眼神以及成人們的肢體語 言中看到他們對生活的憧憬。為了讓孩子們眼中的那束明亮的 光能長存，並且有更多更好的條件去創造所有可能屬於他們的 未來，我們舉辦了此次的展覽；這次的展覽主要是針對非洲的 醫療、水源、食物以及教育所舉辦的，並且我們準備了相對應 的體驗區 。

he above quote perfectly summarizes the collaborative project between Green Apple Art Center and Art Hope Foundation, “Global Art Exchange - High Five Africa Exhibition”. Throughout the entire event, our students and instructors dedicated a lot of time and efforts from design, preparation, set-up, to exhibition opening. Although it seemed like a fleeting moment, our charity event successfully marked its end carrying the perpetual love and compassion from everyone. We have raised more than $8500 dollar, and all the proceeds have been donated to our beneficiaries in helping children in Kenya and Uganda improving their access to resources. On the day of the event, we were very honoured to have invited Mr. Malcolm Brodie, City of Richmond Mayor, and Mrs. Katrina Chen, the MLA for Burnaby-Lougheed and the Minister of State for Child Care, to attend and speak at our opening ceremony. At the end of ther speech. both of them signed on the Wall of Hope, leaving their most sincere blessings to everyone.
he donate his calligraphy works for fundraising, his entire family showed up and his granddaughter, Kayla Chan, gave us an exquisite guzheng performance that captured the hearts of all the guests. “Global Art Exchange - High Five Africa Exhibition” was a project designed and organized by members of Art Hope Foundation. From exhibition introduction, floor plan, hand-drawn sceneries of Africa, design and setup of each interactive station, to opening ceremony event flow and hosting, our students were able to collaborate and complete all these rigorous tasks together as a team. The opening ceremony officially began on December 16th at 12:30pm, with a warm welcome from Green Apple Art Center’s CEO, Mr. Wayne - Linda Shi, Chiang, followed by a video filmed Art Hope Foundation President in Africa from Tina Tsai, the Ambassador of Metro World Child Canada. After Mr. Malcolm Brodie and Mrs. Katrina Chen’s speech, our Art Hope Foundation President, Linda, came on stage with her team to introduce the event and design concepts for each station. Not long ago, Tina Tsai and her team paid a visit to Kenya and Uganda. Through interacting with local residents, in spite of different languages, they were able to see strong hopes for better future in the eyes of the children and through body languages of the adults. Inspired by Tina’s experiences, the idea of “High Five Africa Exhibition” was born, to continue nourishing the children’s dreams and hopes. The exhibition focused on helping people understand the region’s lack of resources through interactive stations on medical, water, food, and educational issues in Kenya and Uganda.
“ Two months of idea brainstorming, two weeks of installation, two days of exhibition, and two hours of dismantling. This was the coolest exhibition that didn’t even last for three days.”
Furthermore, the exhibition would not have been successful without the support from respected artists and educators: former Board Director of the National Taiwan Arts Education Museum, Mr. Chang Chun-Chieh, President of Chinese Artists Association Of Canada (CCAAC), Mr. Alan Wong, former President of Chinese Artists Association Of Canada(CCAAC), Mrs. Hai-ping Lee, and many directors and members of CCAAC. And special thanks to the Honorary President and renowned artist, John Chen, former President Hai-ping Lee, Sandy Huang, and Betty Hung for donating their artworks for silent auction. All proceeds would go towards Metro World Child Canada and Sole Hope, the two charitable organizations. We have received tremendous support from Mr. John Chen. Not only did 2

LINDA SHI 時曉雨 潛力領導者

inda從2012年就在綠蘋果藝術中心學習。她是一位非常有 創意的學生，她總有很多創意的想法。同時Linda也是一 個目標明確，而且無論遇到任何問題與挑戰也會毫不猶豫地 達成目標。 Linda還是一個敢於冒險並且充滿好奇心地一個女生。雖然 她無意成為時裝設計師，但2016年，她出於對服裝製作地好 奇，與其它10位高中生一同參加紐約時裝週，成為有紐約時 裝週史以來最年輕的時裝設計師之一。那次的設計主題是“ 我是宇航員”每個學生都必須經過嚴格的設計篩選，並且在 有限的時間內完成材料試驗與衣服製作。而linda嘗試手工縫 製她人生中第一件衣服，並將皮革製成幾何圖案使整件衣服 充滿獨特的哥特式風格。 除了有設計的天賦外，Linda還是一個天生的領導者，不僅 具有超凡的魅力，同時也關注成員門的需求。在最開始的時 候，我們並沒有意識到她的潛力。直到她成為藝術希望慈善 基金會的主席，與Metro World Child Canada 以及 SoleHope舉辦了“2017年的國際藝術交流計劃——非洲之旅 藝 術樂享”， 她突然變得非常積極主動。 作為一個領導者，她非常的負責任。每週一次與合作方及老 師的會議，討論、修改、審查、分配任務給每個成員，與團 隊聯繫確保事情順利進行，找贊助商等等。儘管Linda自己的 學習任務繁重，但她自我的時間管理規劃好，盡量分配時間 與基金會成員溝通保證活動順利進行，成員們都願意配合她 的工作安排。不用多說，展覽活動非常成功，這與Linda的努 力密不可分。

inda has been a student at Green Apple Art Center since 2012. She is a very creative designer who always has a lot of great ideas in her mind. Linda is also an articulate student who is able to explain her ideas clearly, and will not hesitate to challenge others who disagree, in a non-confrontational manner. Moreover, as a nonconformist, Linda always take an adventurous route fulfill her curiosity. Although she has no intention of becoming a fashion designer, Linda decided to take part in New York Fashion Week with a team of 10 other high school students in 2016, solely because she was inquisitive about how to construct a garment. The theme of the collection was “I am Astronaut”, and each student had to undergo rigorous design and experimental processes within a demanding timeline. Linda was able to pull herself through, sewing her very first wearable garment by hand, producing an unique gothic piece with geometric patterns made from leather. It should go without saying that Linda is a remarkable young designer who embraces novelty. In addition, Linda is a natural leader who is not only charismatic but is also attentive to the needs of her teammates. We have never realized Linda’s potential until she was elected as the President of Art Hope Foundation, a charitable organization formed by out students, who wish to use art as an interactive medium to make the world a better place. While preparing for “High Five Africa”, a collaborative charity exhibition with Metro World Child Canada, Sole Hope, Art Hope Foundation and our studio, the usual tardy Linda has suddenly in bi-weekly meetings and brainstorming sessions, communicating with World Child Canada Ambassador and instructors to review and modify proposals, assigning tasks to every team member, liaising with her team to ensure a smooth running of the event, to finding sponsors. Furthermore, in spite of heavy schoolwork, Linda was willing to allocate her spare time for additional teleconference meetings. And during the exhibition setup, Linda would make her time available to check on her teammates and volunteers. Because everyone looked to her for instructions, and everyone enjoyed her presence greatly. Suffice to say, the exhibition was successful in part due to Linda’s efforts.

蘋果課程展示是我們藝術中心每半年所舉辦的大型活動之一，展 現學生們在不同課程裡所取得的學習成果，從專注于創意及技巧 提昇的作品集課程、美術館主題課程、繪畫基礎課程、至建築設計、空 間設計、服裝設計、新媒體等的專業課程。這活動不僅僅賞心悅目，讓 家長與來賓欣賞學生的創作，也給予了我們學生能夠在人群面前發言的 獨特機會，訓練他們更有自信地表達自己的想法以及創作過程。 今年的成果展示是與“非洲之旅－藝術樂享” 展覽一同舉辦。來自建築 設計，互動空間設計以及服裝設計課程的學生們在舞台向來賓介紹了他 們的成果與創作過程，而作品集課程與少年課程的作品則在另一個區域 展示給來賓。

reen Apple Program Showcase is one of the biggest events hosted by our art center on a semi-annual basis. The showcase is a highlight of our students’ end-of-the-term achievements from the courses they have taken, running the gamut from Portfolio, Art Gallery Program, Drawing and Painting Foundation, to specialized courses in Architecture, Spatial Design, Fashion Design, to New Media. It is not only an eye candy moment for the parents and guest speakers to appreciate our students’ exquisite works, but also an unique opportunity for our students to speak in front of the crowd, training them to share their thoughts and creative processes aloud in great logic, composure, and confidence. This year, we were able to hold our program showcase in conjunction with High Five Africa Exhibition. Students from Architecture, Interactive Spatial Design, and Fashion Design courses presented their works and ideas on stage to event attendees, while artworks from portfolio and pre-teen program were displayed at another exhibition section.

e also have many interesting and unique courses designed specifically for students under grade 8, our Pre-Teen Program. Each of the course helps students to start exploring diverse disciplines at young age, combining artistic creativity with subjects ranging from literature, history, science and technology. Through a fun process of exploration and projects, students will be able to utilise a brand new perspective to unleash their creativity, spark the creative catalyst, and create a future full of development potential. Let us show you the fabulous works these students have accomplished throughout the Fall Semester! 恭喜我們7年級同學Jessica獲得2018美國學術藝術與寫作 的設計類榮譽獎！ 這個作品主題是神話。通過研究以及調 查希臘神話與原由，Jessica深深地被希臘大力神－“海 格立斯的十二道任務”的英雄事蹟所吸引。不如往常一樣 的使用顏料與筆刷，Jessica這次突發奇想，以設計桌上 遊戲（board game)的形式來體現海格立斯緊張刺激的試 驗。每一張關卡的卡片是以版畫刻印出，使用鮮明的紅色 墨水來另人傳達心驚膽戰的情緒。之後使用鐳射切割在木 板上繪製了遊戲基地。最後Jessica還細心地製作了遊戲 規則，完成了海格立斯的十二道任務遊戲。

Congratulations to our grade 7 student, Jessica, for receiving Honourable Mention in Design Category from 2018 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. The theme of the work is Mythology. Through researching different Greek mythology and their origin, Jessica became deeply involved with the heroic legend of "Hercules' Twelve Labour". Instead of using paints and brushes, Jessica had a wild idea - visualizing Hercules' intense and exciting tasks through board game. She used print making technique to delicately design and carve out symbol that representing each labour. The vibrant colour of red was chosen to communicate feeling of anxiety and fear. The board game base was created using layer cut on wood. Jessica also created game rules in the end, completing her "Hercules' 12 Labour" game set.

ngel是一名成績優異積極向上就讀於Lord Byng中學12年級的學生。由於她性 格開朗積極向上，同學們都願意與她做朋友。她善良樂於助人，經常參加各種義 工活動，並且她從小就嚮往成為一位偉大的領導人，因為在她的印像中，領導人不僅 有魅力而且自信，並且還能夠引領社會的積極性。她非常喜歡甘地的一句話“領導意 味著與人相處”。作為一個備受尊敬的領導者，不是專制，而是在執行規則的同時還 要注意別人的需求。所以擔任藝術希望慈善基金會的人力資源部部長可謂實至名歸同 時由於Angel有豐富的組織活動經驗，連續兩年2016和2017年國際藝術交流計劃“ 非洲之旅 - 藝術樂享”中還擔任人力資源及項目負責人。 在中國有一句諺語“興趣是你最好的老師”。Angel從十年級就因為好奇而開始學多 媒體，儘管在開始的時候遇到很多困難，並且家長由於不了解多媒體，認為學習多媒 體是浪費時間的事情，她感到非常的沮喪。但Angel享受在幕後工作的樂趣，並且認 為完成一部電影非常有挑戰性，它需要構思劇本，演員招募，地點調查，預算管理以 及後期製作等，每完成一個階段的成就感都使她更努力更自信地前進。另外，多媒體 製作強調合作，參與更多的團隊合作，讓Angel意識到多媒體藝術更多的意義。
A
ngel is a Grade 12 student in Lord Byng Secondary school. She admired great leaders since she was young. Angel dream to become one of them, for they are not only charismatic and confident, but are also capable of inducing positivity in the society. Angel resonates deeply with one of the sayings from Mahatma Gandhi, who is an exemplar of transformational leader who once said "leadership [is about] getting along with people.” Being a well-respected leader is not equivalent to being authoritarian, but is about being able to find a fine balance between enforcing rules and be attentive to other people’s needs. It is no doubt that Angel is the finest Human Resource in Art Hope Foundation. And because of her well- rounded experiences, Angel has also taken on the role as the Project Manager throughout “High Five Africa" exhibition. There is a famous Chinese idiom: “interest is your best teacher”. Angel has been studying Media Arts in school since Grade 10 out of pure curiosity, despite discouragement from peers and parents who regarded it as a waste of time. It was only after the first term that she realized her obsession with the subject. She felt comfortable when she worked behind the camera, and she was eager to do the post-production work. In addition, this subject placed a strong emphasis on collaboration, which allowed her to grasp a deeper understanding of teamwork.

HE SCHOLASTIC ART & WRITING AWARDS has an impressive legacy dating back to 1923. Over the years, the Awards have grown to become the longest-running, most prestigious recognition program for creative teens in the U.S., and the nation’s largest source of scholarships for creative young artists and writers. Each year, more than 350,000 artworks have been submitted to the organizer Alliance for Young Artist & Writers by grade 7-12 high school students worldwide. The competition consists of two stages: the regional and national. Both Gold and Silver Key recipients from the regional level will enter the next level of selection, and only the top tier students will receive the Gold and Silver Medal national awards.

AP STUDIO ART INTENSIVE AP藝術課程滿分大滿貫 綠
蘋果藝術中心提供AP Studio Art密集課程，專門為追 求更有挑戰性的藝術與創意之旅的學生們所設計. 我們 的課程和專業導師將引導學生通過AP的要求，以及對學生 有興趣的主題進行必要的研究和理念發展。本課程結束時， 學生將會完成24個關於Breadth、Concentration、以及 Quality要求的高質量作品。

reen Apple Art Center offers AP Studio Art Intensive Program for students who wish to embark on a rigorous and challenging creative journey. Our curriculum and professional instructors will guide students through the requirements of the AP, and the necessary research and idea development on students’ desired topic. By the end of the program, students will complete a total of 24 quality pieces for Breadth and Concentration requirements.

018年2月，我們很榮幸能再一次走上紐約時裝周的舞 台。這次我們綠蘋果藝術中心的紐約時裝周課程一共 有6位學生設計師，他們分別是：Daniel Zhang、Vivian Zhu、Tiffany Wang、Yannie Lo、Tina Li、William Park。這幾位同學經歷了好幾個月的主題探索、 小組會議、服裝面料及配色討論等慎密的過程，最終一 起完成了19套作品，準備迎接國際時尚舞台的洗禮！ 這次的主題是威尼斯嘉年華，靈感來源於該傳統服裝的寬 大、誇張以及褶皺等元素，從而創造出寬鬆的衣服、過長的 袖子，以及誇張的造型。讓我們期待一下我們年輕的設計師 們會在這次的嘉年華中帶給我們的驚喜表現吧！

n February 2018, Green Apple Art Center is extremely proud to stand on the international stage at New York Fashion Week again! This year's New York Fashion Week Program consists of 6 student designers: Daniel Zhang, Vivian Zhu, Tiffany Wang, Yannie Lo, Tina Li and William Park. Together they went through idea development, team meetings, fabric and colour research, and other rigorous design processes to ultimately create a total of 19 garments. The theme of this year's collection is Venetian Carnival, inspired by traditional garments' large and oversized structures, exaggerated ruffles and shoulder pads elements. The designs have incorporated the use of large dresses, extended sleeves, and exaggerated structures. Let's look forward to the surprises that our young designers will bring to the fashion carnival!
