appy Holidays! Welcome to Great Lakes Theater’s twenty-fourth annual production of Gerald Freedman’s adaptation of A Christmas Carol, by Charles Dickens. It is deeply rewarding for us to have been a part of Cleveland’s holiday tradition for nearly a quarter century! Thank you for sharing your holidays with us again this year.

Our 51st season of producing Shakespeare and other classics is off to a tremendous start. In September and October, our Fall Repertory productions of The Winter’s Tale and The Imaginary Invalid enjoyed an extraordinarily positive reception from our audiences in the Hanna Theatre. Additionally, our acclaimed education programming served thousands of students throughout the region. This work would not be possible without your support. We are grateful to so many people for our success, and especially for making this year’s production of A Christmas Carol possible. I encourage you to look through this program at the list of individual members, corporations and foundations that support GLT annually. We extend our deepest gratitude to each and every one of them. We also express a special note of appreciation to Gerald Freedman and his talented design team for creating this inspired and moving adaptation of Dickens’ classic, and we celebrate this year’s company of artists, led by Artistic Associate, Sara Bruner! This spring and summer we continue our season with productions of Noel Coward’s ghostly-comedy, Blithe Spirit, Shakespeare’s beautiful, romantic-comedy, Much Ado About Nothing and, opening in May, the great American classic, Guys and Dolls produced once again in partnership with PlayhouseSquare and the Keybank Broadway Series! We hope you’ll join us across the street in the re-imagined Hanna Theatre for all of these plays. Subscription packages are still available and our Bard Card is a great way to give the gift of theater this holiday season. For complete information, call our subscriber hotline at (216) 664-6064. From all of us at Great Lakes Theater, we wish you the happiest of holiday seasons. Have a marvelous time, and we hope to see you in our audience again soon.
