June was a fantastic month for the Grapevine Chamber of Commerce! We were busy, as always, and we received some humbling recognitions for the hard work and efforts by our Chamber staff and CEO. Grapevine was happy to host an annual conference for the Texas Chamber of Commerce Executives (TCCE) at the Hilton DFW Lakes Executive Conference Center. We welcomed nearly 300 Chamber Executives from around the state to our City for this conference. At this conference, an awards dinner was held to recognize the achievements of Chamber executives as well as the media efforts by Chambers. The Grapevine Chamber was a finalist for 5 media awards. We received 2 second place awards for our Brochures and Marketing campaigns and 2 first place awards for our Map and Website this year! Additionally, our Chamber CEO, RaDonna Hessel, was awarded the distinguished Marvin Hurly award, given to one individual each year for exceptional leadership and contributions to the Chamber profession as a whole. We are very proud of RaDonna and very proud to have her serve as our leader, for the past 10 years! Our 5 star accredited Chamber is truly special. The July luncheon will be combined with the HEB Chamber. The speaker will be Doug Renfro, president of Renfro Foods. His topic will be “Selling as David in a World of Goliaths.” Reservations can be made by visiting the Chamber website Events Page and registering online. The location will be at the Hurst Conference Center at 1601 Campus Dr., Hurst TX 76054 The cost is $25 with a reservation by 5 p.m., Monday, July 9th, or $40 after that date. There is a $5 fee for invoicing, and all reservations not canceled by 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 11th, will be billed.

Counting Our Blessings Happy 4th of July everyone! It’s a great time to reflect and count our blessings for the many liberties we have. Our June luncheon had a very large member participation as well as a record number of visitors. Our venue, The Marriott Courtyard TownePlace Suites, and staff have done an exceptional job in accommodating our growing membership. Saturday, August 11th we will be partnering with CONNECT at the Back-to-School Fair for Grapevine Colleyville ISD. We will be servicing over 1400 students with their school supplies. Our fundraising efforts have been providing funding for this program since 1991. We firmly believe that every child is entitled to start the new school year equipped with sufficient supplies to be prepared to learn. We are truly blessed! A Letter from a small business owner in the Rockport-Fulton Chamber Dear Grapevine Chamber and Members, My name is Carol Inman, I live in Rockport Texas and my husband Michael Langbecker and I own a small RV park here too. We recently attended a meeting at the chamber and were given a small gift bag of chamber goodies. Among the goodies was a card from the Grapevine Chamber with a note from Dr. Joey Kramer. I want to you all to know just how much your note and kid words meant to me and Michael. It truly struck my heart to read those words of encouragement. I have the little anchor charm pinned to my window valance at my work area and I see it every day and still feel encouraged by it. We are doing amazing things in Rockport and are pushing forward. Margaret Meharg is the owner of Grapevine Green. The company was established in 2008 and it’s mission is to improve air quality in home and businesses through patented Green Screen HV/AC Air Filters. Grapevine Green offers a custom made, reusable frame. The initial frame comes with filter material which usually last 2-3 months and generally costs less than the pleated paper filters sold in big box stores. The advantages of the Green Screen are: • Controls the growth of dust mites, mold spores, pollen and other harmful allergens with an antimicrobial agent baked into the fibers of the filters. • Less restrictive air flow allows for greater efficiency and lower utility bills • Massive dust holding capacity with wet tactifier to hold in the particles.
