History of Grapevine

“Millions of stories are gone forever, but it is not too late to capture what remains...”

Mayor William D. Tate February 11, 2002

HISTORY OF GRAPEVINE

The Grapevine Chamber of Commerce is a partnership of businesses that choose to invest in our community. Established in 1952, the Chamber and its Board of Directors work to build programming, events and marketing opportunities that promote Grapevine and our region.

The Chamber is an organization that attempts to provide diverse opportunities for our members and the community alike to market their businesses, with a website that allows job postings, Hot Deals, calendar of events and listings of the top businesses who are proud to support their Chamber and community. The Chamber’s award-winning Social Media plan continues to take the Chamber to the next level, promoting business, sharing current events and keeping the community informed.

While technology is an important road to our future, the handshakes continue to be proven mechanisms for business growth and building on our network of contacts. The Chamber provides a multitude of face-to-face educational seminars, community events, luncheons and legislative updates that support the family-friendly atmosphere that is - Grapevine, Texas. We also continue to produce this printed directory, serving as a new resident and business guide. It is also a reminder to our business investors to shop local to keep our business community healthy! Grapevine was the Chamber that created the North Texas Employer Health Plan Cooperative. This effort was put in to place to offer small businesses with 2 – 50 employers another option for providing health insurance to their employees. Working with United Healthcare, and a 22-county region, this association health plan was formed through the efforts of the Chamber staff. We continue to look for ways to support and add value to our business community. As a 5-Star U.S. Chamber of Commerce Accredited Chamber, the organization has made sure that its governance is such that we can continue to implement the ideas shared by our investors and to make great things happen. The Grapevine Chamber of Commerce will continue to build on the relationships with our businesses, legislators, city staff and community leaders to ensure that our community of caring and corporate culture thrives into the future.
