Isn’t September a strange month? It is the first full month of a new school year for children of all ages, kindergarten to college. It is the month we transition from summer to fall (at least we hope so weather wise). It is the month when leaves begin to change, businesses begin planning their budgets for the next year and we all start shopping for Christmas. It is the beginning of the end of another year. But since 2001, it is also a time when we step back in time to think of the tragic loss of life, the horror of radical thinking, the anger of having innocent lives taken due to terroristic insanity. But at the same time 09-11-2001 and after showed us true heroism, patriotism, faith and resilience. It brought our country together in a way not often seen in my lifetime and reminded
us of how strong we are when we act together, support each other and work towards a common goal. We haven’t forgotten that day and what happened, but we have learned from it, we have grown, and we have become smarter and stronger. We are blessed to be in the United States of America, and I encourage you to take some time this month to thank a first responder when you see them for all they do to keep us safe. For Grapevine and the Grapevine Chamber, September means the start of a multitude of ways for you and your company to get involved in the community, meet people, build friendships and have fun. Grapefest is September 12 – 15. There are a ton of ways to get involved by volunteering for the chamber beer booth or concession stand from Friday – Sunday, helping the Women’s Division

man all beer booths from Thursday to Friday, or signing up to the help the city, CVB or any of the other organizations who will be on Main Street. The Chamber is also making plans for the October 7th Golf Tournament – the 40th annual event! They are still signing up teams, sponsors and volunteers. And October 30th is the next Job Fair. Committees are meeting, luncheons are happening, and networking is also a part of building your business and your community. Remember - we are all stronger when we work together!

Women’s Division Events Welcome to September! The Women’s Division just completed one of its largest giving projects – school supplies for back to school. The WD was able to donate over $32,000 this school year to help 1400 children in need. The community came together to support these children at the back to school fair with supplies, backpacks and school and community resources. Hundreds of GCISD and community volunteers made this year another great success! Come join the Women’s Division Thursday September 5th at Sloan and Williams for the Kathee Livengood Birthday Bash!! We are proud to once again be presenting sponsor of this fabulous evening! Please also join us for our September Women’s Division luncheon on September 10th. This month’s lunch will be held at GRACE as well as sponsored by GRACE. 11:45am-1pm at 837 E. Walnut Grapevine, TX 76051.
Please Join Us and be sure to RSVP at www.grapevinechamber.org/events or call he Chamber at 817.481.1522.

MUST BE PRESENT TO WIN!
Our Member, Ms. Donna Thomas with EECU, was drawn at the August Luncheon. Since she was not present, the prize is now $350 for our September 19th Luncheon. Each month through the sponsorship of First Financial Bank, an additional $50 is added to the prize at the Chamber’s Membership Luncheon, so the dollar amount grows as long as the person whose name is called is not in attendance. To win, all you have to do is attend the luncheon and hear your name be called! Every representative’s name is included for each Chamber member, so everyone has an opportunity - you only have to have your name drawn to be Present to Win!
