Guide For Going Out

Have a Bite There are many restaurants in Allendale and Grand Rapids that are tasty, affordable and relatively healthy – at least compared to the fast food many college students eat three times a week or more. With a car, the possibilities are endless, but even riding the bus gives students a multitude of choices. If planning to go out on a busy night, students can make their night much easier by calling ahead to find out if the restaurant takes reservations. Even if you’re ordering pizza, there is something satisfying about walking past all the people who came in to place their order. It’s a huge time-saver.

On a tight budget? There are many meals that

seem fancy but are actually simple to make with a few ingredients. Every student, at least those who have a kitchen, should have a Crock-Pot. Just putting in chicken with barbecue sauce and leaving it to cook for the day makes a delicious meal — after making a few sides as simple as heating up frozen vegetables — that barely took any work and saved much more money than one would spend going out to eat. There are thousands, if not millions, of recipes on Pinterest and generally online that a learning chef can easily put together at home with stepby-step directions.
