A Cuddle and a Cwtch • Author Sarah KilBride • Illustrator James Munro • Publication November 2019 • HB, 48pp, 150 x 150mm • £6.99 • ISBN 9781912654659 Cwtch rhymes with butch – it’s the Welsh word for hug. Cwtching is gentle and tender and snug. Snugger than a snuggle, cuddlier than a cuddle, A cwtch is a heartbeat of love in a huddle. Cwtch is a Welsh word used to describe a whole lot of love. This endearing gift book and its illustrated poem introduces the term to the English language in order to share its healing, human warmth.

13/09/2019 15:46

Sarah KilBride’s rhyming text introduces the reader to all the ways in which a cwtch can be understood, and just how special a thing it is to share with our loved ones of any age. Sarah KilBride is the author of ten picture books in the Princess Evie series, as well as four Evie fiction books for older readers. The Princess Evie series has been translated into 17 languages, including Welsh, Arabic, Norwegian, French and Mandarin, with sales of over one million books. Lost Tramways of England: Bradford NEW 2020

Lost Tramways of England: Bradford • Author Peter Waller • Publication February 2020 • HB, 64pp, 150 x 200mm • £8.99 • ISBN 9781912654406 Although better known as a pioneer of trolleybus operation – Bradford played host to Britain’s longest surviving trolleybus network (61 years) – the corporation operated a sizeable fleet of 4ft 0in gauge trams through to May 1950. As such, Bradford could lay claim to being the last 4ft 0in tram operator in Britain and – in the restoration of No 104 – the first to see a derelict tramcar restored to use. • An informative, accessible and portable resource for the tram enthusiast as well as the general reader, and a superb souvenir or gift for visitors past and present. • Photo illustrated throughout, including many archive images which are appearing in print for the first time. Adult Books 2019

Lost Tramways of Scotland: Aberdeen NEW 2020

Lost Tramways of Scotland: Aberdeen • Author Peter Waller • Publication February 2020 • HB, 64pp, 150 x 200mm • £8.99 • ISBN 9781912654413 Aberdeen – the granite city – was to play host to two electric tramways: the corporation’s services within the city, which survived until 1958, and the short-lived services operated by the Aberdeen Suburban Tramways Co. Acquiring modern trams in the late 1940s, Aberdeen was perceived as one of the safest of British tramways in the post-war years but even here the diesel bus was to take-over. • The Lost Tramways series documents the tram networks which were at the heart of many of Britain’s growing towns and cities from the mid-19th century to the mid-20th century. • Transport expert Peter Waller, author of numerous works on the regional tram systems of the UK, guides the reader along the route of the network and discusses its key features stop by stop. For other titles in this series go to pages 29-31.

Lost Tramways of Scotland: Dundee • Author Peter Waller • Publication February 2020 • HB, 64pp, 150 x 200mm • £8.99 • ISBN 9781912654420 Arguably the last of the ’traditional’ tramways to operate in Britain, Dundee’s fleet of some 56 trams were to survive through until the mid-1950s when – despite considerable opposition – this popular form of transport was replaced by bus. The final Dundee trams operated in October 1956. • As well as rigorously detailed transport history, these volumes provide an intimate glimpse into life as it was lived during the period of operation, and the recognisable streets which have been maintained or transformed through the decades. • An informative, accessible and portable resource for the tram enthusiast as well as the general reader, and a superb souvenir or gift for visitors past and present. • Photo illustrated throughout, including many archive images which are appearing in print for the first time. Creative Me by Helen Elliott • Publication June 2016 • PB, 112pp, 250 x 200mm • £15 • ISBN 9781910862582

‘If capturing the heart of Wales was David Wilson’s intention, then he has here created a masterpiece. Never have I seen Wales portrayed in such rugged and basic beauty. I know how beautiful Wales is, having lived there for the first 21 years of my life, and indeed some of the pictures David has produced portray my old stomping grounds as a child (Neuadd, Pontsticill), but the grit and honesty in these pictures are astonishing. The book is truly wonderful and a must for any photographer’s collection.’ CUSTOMER REVIEW
