Manson House, Bury St Edmunds residential care home and apartments for independent living

“We’re confident you’ll like what you see at Manson House. We will always put people first because we believe you cannot put a price on happiness and security. “We also work hard to meet and exceed Care Quality Commission (CQC) standards.” Carole Smith, Head of Home

Enrich your life, stay independent We can all expect to live longer nowadays – and making the move into a residential home should not be something to fear. Manson House offers high quality 24-hour care, providing security, companionship and a warm comfortable environment to enrich your life and help you stay as independent as possible. If you’re happy, we’re happy! Manson House is a hidden gem; a welcoming and long-established residential care home – with associated apartments for independent living – in the heart of the delightful Suffolk market town of Bury St Edmunds. You’ll find us on the eastern side of Northgate Street, just a short distance away from Abbey Gardens and the centre of the town. It’s a quiet residential area close to the town’s main shops and amenities.

Part of the Suffolk community Manson House is a Grade II* listed building which dates back to the 16th century. The home is owned and run by the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution (R.A.B.I), a farming welfare charity that gives out around £2m per year to farming people in financial need. R.A.B.I has been serving the farming industry since 1860. Although we encourage applications from people with farming backgrounds, we also welcome applications from the wider community. We’re very much part of the Bury St Edmunds locality and extremely proud of our Suffolk roots.

When you walk through the front door you feel as if someone has put their arms around you

A true home from home A three-year development programme and investment of £6m has significantly transformed Manson House.
