Registration Info When: May 13 (departure date) to June 3 (3 weeks). Daily schedule available upon request. Who: Undergraduate and graduate students. Where: East China Normal University (ECNU), Shanghai, one of the top programs in China studies. What: Interdisciplinary study of China. Learn Chinese culture, society, and language firsthand, travel within China, and take fieldtrips in Shanghai. Credit hours: Earn 6 credit hours, 3 hours from NURS4341/5341 and 3 hours from ECNU transferable to UT Tyler. Monday through Friday classes at ECNU include three hours of classes each morning covering Chinese economy, society, health care, government, education, traditional arts, such as pa-per cutting, calligraphy, and martial arts. Support: Some scholarships may be available. Because students stay on campus, the total cost is much lower than most study abroad programs. Cost: $3,500 (subject to fluctuating currency exchange and airfare rates), including international air-fare, books, housing, fees, field trips within Shanghai and to nearby cities. A deposit of $500 will be due to the Cashier’s office on February 18, which is refundable if the student cancels the trip by March 1. The student will pay the rest of the dues of by March 1. Students in any major are welcome to enroll and gain 6 credit hours (upon approval by the advisor or department chair).
