The refreshed brand identity, supported by high-visibility billboard advertising, more clearly defines the university’s values, reflecting GSU’s unfaltering commitment to its students and the region.

The new tagline, “Here, You Are.” embodies the belief that GSU students, faculty, staff, and visitors are individuals with unique strengths, skills, and aspirations. Each deserves a university where they can reach their goals and develop new ones. This billboard campaign reaffirms Governors State’s promise to serve as that universal resource. GSU, where passion is first and purpose is forever, has always served as an inclusive haven for learners from all backgrounds–especially first generation, low-income, and returning adult students seeking the brighter future promised by education. While the recent Illinois state budget crisis took its toll, GSU remained successful, with healthy enrollment numbers, graduation rates, and a bright outlook.
