Kid’s corner, teen scene & school of rocK staGe Kid’s Corner is a rockin’ good time! Kids and parents alike make this area their home at the Vibes. Led by Gabrielle Fugere, Andy “The Music Man” Morse, Trinity Madison, and School of Rock’s instructors and AllStars, 2013 marks the 14th anniversary of the kids area. Located only a few minutes walk from the main concert field, surrounded by beautiful trees and plenty of green space, it’s the ideal compromise between our children’s need to have fun & play and parents need to socialize with other families. Please see the schedule board at the Kids Tent, Teen Scene, and School of Rock for days and times of activities. At the Kids Tent, there’s never a shortage of activities (9am-sundown): • Arts and crafts, including painting on a community mural • Children’s entertainers • Field day games, splash pool, toys • Face painting, costume making, dancing with puppets • Relax on a comfy couch and read Teen Scene is a hit with both “tweens” and teens (1pm-11pm): • Learn to play a musical instrument and jam with friends • Duct tape wallet making, t-shirt designs, spa and nails, nutrition talks, yoga • Socialize, play games, get hair wraps • Hula hoop, teen’s choice movie night, puppet workshops Gathering of the Vibes is again proud to announce a unique partnership with School Of Rock, the nation’s leading performancebased music school. Watch established Vibes artists from the Main and Green Vibes stages jam with the rock stars of the future, bringing the School of Rock’s unique teaching method alive for teen students from Boston to Virginia! On Sunday morning at 10:30am, take a field trip in costume over to the Green Vibes Stage for a special musical performance for families by the Andy “The Music Man” Band. Immediately following Andy’s set join in a large parade with One World Puppets, Ash Street Puppet Works, stilt walkers, musicians, and lots of merriment. We will parade to the Main Stage where we will partake in a World Peace Flag ceremony.
SAFETY FIRST Kids Safety Registration: Come register your kids in the Kids Tent from 9am-8pm. They will be given a bracelet with your contact info during the festival, and we will keep a list of all contact info in case of emergency. We will also be holding kids registration at the VIP tent for VIP Kids on Thursday and Friday. We encourage you to discuss with your children what to do if they get lost, how to ask for help, how to describe you, and any other information, including the Vibes Hotline number, 203.908.3030. FUN-FILLED FAMILY MUSIC www.andysings.com Full time children’s musician and originator of Kid’s Corner, Andy “The Music Man” will be celebrating the release of his third CD Sing and Dance with Andy and performing highly interactive musical sets for families with special guests on Thursday 5pm-5:30pm, Friday 1:45pm-2:15pm & Saturday 1:30pm-2:00pm at the Kids Tent and on Sunday at 11:00am on the Green Vibes Stage with the Andy Band. One World Puppetry Invites you to make a life sized puppet. Enter the world of make believe walking around with your puppet. One World Puppetry will be showcasing engaging performances each day. Ash Street Puppet Works Create large puppets from recycled material, puppet making demonstrations, origami flower making, and plenty of fun for everyone. Bio-Bus - biobus.org The Bio-Bus is a special bus that travels around educating kids & teens about science and the sea. There will be handson workshops at low tides including a walk down to the shore to study the marine life.
