The Masters of Education in Mentorship and Leadership at the University of the Fraser Valley has been the best professional learning of my career. One of the strongest aspects of the MEd program is the tremendous support that our cohort has received from our instructors and other educators connected to the program.” ERIN HARTFIELD, Student

MASTER OF EDUCATION DEGREE IN EDUCATIONAL LEADERSHIP & MENTORSHIP

KEVIN GODDEN Superintendent — Abbotsford School District

We know that the quality of leadership contributes positively to the adult and student learning culture in schools. It is for this reason that we have made a significant investment in leadership development as part of our organizational strategy. We are delighted to endorse the UFV Masters in Educational Leadership and Mentorship Program, as it has helped us to build a stronger leadership pipeline in our district.

Through the six courses in the program, you will explore the theory and practice of leadership and mentorship, gain a deep understanding of distributed leadership, engage in reflective mentoring practices, and develop an identity as a strong and effective leader-mentor. A unique feature of this MEd is the development of a formal research proposal in your area of interest that is carried out in fieldwork during the second year of the program. When you graduate, you will be equipped to lead change and mentor colleagues through educational initiatives that can be implemented at the classroom, school, and district level. This program qualifies for the Teacher Qualification Service (TQS) upgrade and is also designed to prepare you for doctoral level studies.
