New Student Days

Welcome! We are thankful you are here and look forward to getting to know you!

Dear students and parents, On behalf of all members of the Goshen College community, we welcome you to the 2015-16 New Student Orientation. We are very glad you are here, and are looking forward to the weekend activities as well as the beginning of our journey together as a part of the Goshen College community. During these days, we hope to provide you with the support system needed as you transition into life at Goshen College. We recognize for both residential and commuter students that this weekend marks change in each of your lives. Students, whether it is learning to share a room or adjusting to a new schedule, great opportunities for growth are ahead. Parents, there is a sense of anxiousness and needed trust as you encourage a new sense of independence in your student. As a new academic year begins, we are excited about the possibilities for our lives together as a dynamic learning community. Our Goshen College mission statement says that we “seek to integrate Christian values with educational, social and professional life. As a community of faith and learning, we strive to foster personal, intellectual, spiritual and social growth through our five core values: Christ-centeredness, passionate learning, global citizenship, servant leadership, and compassionate peacemaking. In other words, we hope to challenge you, preparing you for an increasingly interconnected world workplace, while providing you with an environment where you can make lifelong, meaningful friendships. We hope you enjoy this weekend of new student activities. We are thankful that you are here and look forward to getting to know you. If I, or any Student Life member can be of assistance, please do not hesitate to let us know. Launa Rohrer Dean of Students 1
