Red-shirt freshman Mike Waters gained valuable experience in open tournaments last season and is ready for the 2012-13 campaign. The North Carolina native could be a key factor for the Nittany Lion lighter weights this year.

High School/Personal: Waters is a 2011 graduate of Davie High School in Advance, N.C.. He capped off his stellar prep run by posting a 55-5 record as a senior and winning the 125 pound North Carolina state title in 2011. Waters won the 112 pound crown as a junior in 2010 and took second at 112 as a sophomore in 2009. As a freshman, Waters took sixth. He is the son of Cindy and Jim Waters.
