Rex Lutz earned a spot on the roster as a walk-on a year ago and had a solid red-shirt campaign, posting 10 wins as an unattached wrestler in open tournaments. Lutz heads into his red-shirt freshman season looking to continue the growth started last year.
Sophomore Kyle Moran is coming off a solid red-shirt season a year ago and heads into the 2012-13 season looking to battle for a spot among Penn State’s lighter weights. Moran wrestled in three open tournaments a year ago, winning one, and looks to build upon that experience in the new year.

Lutz wrestled at Pen Argyl High School in Easton, Pa. Lutz is the son of Rex and JoAnn Lutz and is a pre-medicine major at Penn State.

High School/Personal: Moran came to Penn State after a solid career at Oxford High School in Oxford, Pa. Moran went 29-9 as a senior at 135 and posted a 106-55 career record for the Hornets. Moran also competed at Flo Nationals, posting an impressive fifth place finish. He is the son of Scott and Lisa Moran.
