Senior Derek Reber heads into his final season as a collegiate wrestler ready to continue to battle for a spot in Penn State’s starting line-up. Reber debuted for Penn State last year but was hampered by injuries as the season progressed. A transfer from Bucknell, Reber heads into his senior year with more than 50 career wins.

Year-by-Year: 2011-12: Beat Cam Kelly 4-0 in Intrasquad on 11/3...dropped 2-0 decision to Bloomsburg’s Nick Wilcox in PSU debut on 11/13...went 2-0 (plus a NC win) at the Nittany Lion Open on 12/4...first PSU dual win was a 12-4 major over West Virginia’s Jesse Schiffbauer on 12/11...went 0-2 at Southern Scuffle on 1/1...went 2-1 at the Jamestown Open on 1/28 to take third...went 4-3 at ‘Boro Open on 2/11 to place sixth. 2010-11: Went 15-14 at Bucknell in his first year back after a serious injury the year prior. 2009-10: Injured just prior to start of season, did not compete for the Bison.

High School/Personal: 2008 PIAA state champion...four-time place winner...2008 high school nationals finalist...two-time NHSCA national champ...took fifth at junior nationals in 2007...went 165-10 during his career at Lewisburg High School...son of Franklin and Theresa Reber.
