Yeni yıl akşamı saatler geceyarısını gösterdiğinde Rusya’da akan sular bile durur. Herkes yılbaşı eğlencesine konsantre olmuştur. Saatler 23.00’ı gösterirken Rusya’da şehir ve kasabalar boşalır. Sokakta in cin top oynar ve millet masa başında karnını doyurmaya başlar. Geceyarısına on dakika kala gökyüzünde belki de milyonlarca havai fişek patlar. Ardından şampanya şişeleriyle halk sokaklara dökülür. İnsanlar Kızıl Meydan’da buluşur ve şampanyanın, votkanın su olup aktığı eğlencelerini sürdürür.
When the clock strikes midnight on New Year’s Eve, even flowing rivers will stop in Russia, for everyone’s attention will be on the fun. When it’s 23:00, the cities and towns will be abandoned in Russia with not even a stray cat on the streets. This is when people sit down to have a meal. Ten minutes to midnight, possibly millions of fireworks go off in the sky. The crowds then hit the streets with champagne bottles in hand. Everyone gathers in Red Square and continues to get the most out of the night with champagne and of course, vodka.
