Graduate Assistant Dan Weisse Dan Weisse begins his second season on the Middle Tennessee staff as a graduate assistant after spending one year in the same capacity at the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse. Prior to his stint at UW-La Crosse, Weisse served as an assistant coach for one season at Milwaukee King High School, helping to lead the state power to the Division I state championship in 2004. At Middle Tennessee, Weisse is primarily responsible for academics, video editing and the Blue Raiders’ extensive community service programs, as well as various tasks regarding the day-to-day operation of the Blue Raider men’s basketball program. “Dan is a hard worker and a young man who pays close attention to detail,” Middle Tennessee Head Coach Kermit Davis said. “He is a fine addition to our staff and brings a wide range of experience. He has great character and a strong work ethic, which makes him a perfect fit with our staff.” Weisse played in 118 career games, earning 43
and he played for Head Coach Bruce Pearl (currently at Tennessee) as a junior and senior. Weisse helped lead UW-Milwaukee to the 2003 NCAA Tournament, where it lost a one-point heartbreaker to Notre Dame. He shot a blistering 41 percent from 3-point range, while playing in 32 games. Weisse was an outstanding high school player at Oshkosh West High School, where he scored 1,412 career points, had 527 assists and 282 steals, on his way to earning Associated Press and Milwaukee Journal Sentinel All-State First-Team honors after averaging 16.2 points and shooting 53.5 percent from the field as a senior. The well-rounded player averaged 24 points as a junior and earned second-team All-State honors. Weisse also earned All-State honorable mention recognition as a sophomore. A native of Oshkosh, Wis., Weisse, 26, is single and resides in Murfreesboro. starts, at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
