Toby Warmack

Toby and the Dreadful, Ghastly, Unpleasant Day I fell out of bed and my cat bit me. I got up and I stepped on my Legos. I had to wear long pants to school and I hate long pants. My mom served me broccoli for breakfast and my sister yelled at me and I didn’t even do anything wrong. I could tell it was going to be a dreadful, ghastly, unpleasant day. On the way to school I had to sit by Mason on the bus and he was crying the whole time. When I got to school I had to do 2 mad minutes and I had to do multiplication. I wish I could be at home. During reading I had read Amelia Bedelia and it is the worst! At recess I was it last for ball tag and I’ll have to be it next time, but next time I’m going to be at home. I could tell it was going to be a dreadful, ghastly, unpleasant day. At lunch my mom packed me Lucky Charms and I do not like Lucky Charms. We had to play Gum Ball at P.E. and that is a bad game. I had to do two social studies sheets about Native Americans. On the bus home I had to sit with Mason again and he cried the whole way again. I could tell it was going to be a dreadful, ghastly, unpleasant day. At home Avery hit me with a toy sword in the head and I cut my hand with scissors. I got double the homework I usually get. My sister got double the time to watch TV. For dinner I had to watch My Little Pony. I had to eat Reese’s Puffs. It has been a dreadful, ghastly, unpleasant day. In the shower I got soap in my eyes. When it was bed time I fell out of my bed again and my cat bit me. When I got back in bed my dog sat on me. It has been a dreadful, ghastly, unpleasant day.

My dad says some days are like that even if you stay at home.

Snow Snow, snow, snow is white Snowflakes fall from the sky at night. Snow flies out of the clouds, it falls Snow can be almost 8 feet tall Every snowflake is different you should know If you don’t believe me go look at the snow Snow falls and falls and falls. You can make snow balls. Buffalo is the place with the most snow If you really like it you should go Snow is actually ice, snow is very cold You could make a paper snow flake with a fold Things About Christmas The first thing is that Santa comes down your chimney and leaves presents if you are good. If you are bad Santa gives you coal. Another thing about Christmas is that most people make cookies shaped like Santa. Santa is a myth, no one knows if he is real or fake. Santa has eight reindeer. One of them is Dancer, another one is Prancer and Rudolph. Santa comes at twelve o’clock midnight. He drops presents down your chimney. Jesus is born on the 25th of December. Santa comes on the 25th of December. Christmas means that Jesus is born.

Jack’s Pig Poem

Jack and the Absurd, Horrendous Day

Pigs in the mud

I woke up and I tripped over my favorite toy and broke it. I knew it was going to be an absurd, horrendous day. I watched TV and the power went out. I dropped my candy in the toilet. I got dressed and my clothes ripped. I poured orange juice in my cereal by accident. On the bus they slammed the brakes and I bumped my head on the window. I could tell it was going to be an absurd, horrendous day. At school I said 3+3=7. At reading I turned the page and tore the book. During recess I went really high on the swings and accidently let go and went flying in the air. When I hit the ground I sprained my foot. It was an absurd, horrendous day. I dropped my sandwich during lunch. At PE I scrapped my knee. During Art I got paint on myself. At the end of the day I got on the wrong bus to go home. When I got off the bus I tripped. It is an absurd, horrendous day. When I got home my dog ate my homework. My TV broke. My friend said my pig was pork and I tried to punch him but I missed and tripped. It has been an absurd, horrendous day. For dinner I had to eat tomatoes and I hate tomatoes. When I went to bed my blanket and pillows were washing so I couldn’t use them. My mom brought me a cookie with peanuts on it and some milk and I’m allergic to peanuts. I spilled the milk all over myself and I had an allergic reaction to the peanuts. When I finally fell asleep I had a night mare. It has been an absurd, horrendous day.

Pigs make a thud My pig is pink He gave me a wink People turn pigs into pork They eat them with a fork My pig went to the pool He acted like a fool I wish I had a pig for a pet Unfortunately it hasn’t happened yet

Snowflakes Snowflakes are white You might get the frost bite Cold, cold snow is cold Snow is shiny as gold Snow is fluffy Snowflakes are stuffy And puffy If I Could Be an Animal I Would Be… I would be a pig because my favorite animal is a pig. They roll in the mud and pigs are smart.

Sophie and the Monstrous, Beastly, Horrendous Day Waking up in the morning the dog scratched my eye and I fell in the trash can. My face got all dirty. That was gross. I could tell it was going to be a monstrous, beastly, horrendous day. I took a quiz and the grade I got was an F. It is the lowest grade. Reading was horrible. I could tell it was going to be a monstrous, beastly, horrendous day. At recess I played soccer, I do not like soccer. At lunch I got a bologna sandwich and I don’t like bologna. When I was getting ready to go home I forgot some of my homework and my water bottle was leaking. It was library day and I forgot my library book. At TV time I couldn’t watch my favorite show because my dad was hogging the TV. At dinner we had beef for dinner. I do not like beef it is too chewy for me. In the bath my brother peed in the bath tub – how gross. It has been a monstrous, beastly, horrendous day. At bed time we didn’t get to read Harry Potter because my dad was busy putting my brother to bed. When I went to bed I couldn’t go to sleep because my baby brother was crying all night. It has been a monstrous,

beastly, horrendous day. Some days are like that I hope you don’t have one.

Winter Winter white, trees are green I see snow on every tree Snow, snow you make me cry You are fun and so am I Winter white, snow beyond Snow is on every pond Ice skate, I ice skate On every yond of my pond

My Elf The first time this year, my elf hid on the Christmas tree. The second time he hid on the piano. Then he hid for the third time in my room. It was pretty cool. When we were decorating the tree, I broke a glass ornament. My mom said that it was alright. My mom didn’t care because she didn’t like the ornament anyway. My stocking is a Santa Claus one. I think Santa will like it. What if he likes my brother’s instead of mine. I love my stocking. I love my Christmas tree. This Christmas tree is the biggest tree this year. Christmas means spending time with my family.

Snowflake Snowflake, snowflake delicate thing You bring white to everything Soft, white, pretty and cold I like snow Snow is great, I like it a lot I even use it in a devious plot The sun melts the snow Birds sing and now it’s time To bring something inside What I do on Christmas This Christmas I will pour ice water on my parents while they are asleep in their bed. It will be so funny and when I pour the water on them I will run to my neighbor’s house. I will hide under their bed until my parents dry. Winter can be fun when you remember to build a snowman and a fort! Christmas is about having fun and rotting out your teeth with candy canes.

My Favorite Christmas Present My favorite Christmas present was an x-box. I know Santa is real because I see black footsteps from the chimney. We leave cookies for Santa too. I love Christmas. I love Halloween too. Santa’s elves come to my house and play. Christmas comes only once a year. I wish it came more. I love to watch my family open the gifts that I got for them.

William Lillard What Christmas Means to Me What Christmas means to me is spending time with my family, getting presents, wrestling with my cousin, having a good meal. If you didn’t know the night was the night that Jesus was born in a stable in a manger. That was the night the yonder star appeared in the sky. The wise men came bearing ancient treasures for Jesus. That was the first Christmas. William and the Joyful, Horrendous, Lovely, Miserable Day I had waked up in the morning. I had breakfast in bed. It was sausage and eggs. I tripped on my skates. Mom let me wear my favorite pants to school. My backpack hand sanitizer spilled. I got to sit by Parker on the bus. He never rides my bus. I could tell it was going to be a joyful, horrendous, lovely, miserable day. At counting time I left out 405. We are doing a counting program where we count up as high as we can and if we mess up our turn is over. Who needs 405! I could tell it was going to be a joyful, horrendous, lovely, miserable day. I got a hundred on my spelling test. At PE Jack made me get in trouble. At reading Mr. Pitera said that he would read for me. At Music I made the teacher upset by switching on and off the lights on purpose. At Art Mrs. Pascal let me free draw all period. At recess I was it all the time at ball tag. I could tell it was going to be a joyful, horrendous, lovely, miserable day. At lunch I had completed a gluten free year and there were Cheetos and pretzels and pickles. Mr. Pitera gave me a robot frog in my backpack. On the bus the bus driver made me sit up front for no RRReason. For dinner mom

made some sushi. I had had a really mixed up day. I went to get dressed in play clothes and my homework was done for me. My mom said, “William I did your homework for you. Go play Call of Duty on your DS. I could tell it was going to be a joyful, horrendous, lovely, miserable day. I played Call of Duty and then I played with my cat. I had fun even though I would rather play on my noise rocks. My bath was steaming and very soothing. I got to wear fuzzies to bed and they are my favorite pajamas. I slept awesome. It was a joyful horrendous, lovely, miserable day. Snowflakes Snowflakes are white and delicate Snowflakes are slushy Snowflakes are glushy Let’s go get the snowflakes on the tongue Snow, snow, snow, and let’s get some snowballs Snowflakes all around, lovely snow Let’s have lots of fun Down the alley it’s a snowflake finally. Holly and jolly Christmas people don’t mind the cold at all Snow don’t go yet Snow is just a miracle Snow build a snow man It’s a cold sun Hot chocolate!

Willa Lewis

Willa and the Shocking, Horrendous, Miserable, Atrocious, Horrifying, Disturbing, Intense Day. I had to wake up at 5 O’clock in the morning and I fell out of bed. I was so lazy getting out of bed too. I wanted to wear my red shirt but it was dirty so I had to wear my green shirt. I hate brushing my teeth but I had too because I had to go to the dentist. I could tell it was going to be a shocking, horrendous, miserable, atrocious, horrifying, disturbing, intense day. I didn’t want any breakfast but my mother said I should have eaten it so I’m not hungry. I had to ride on the bus and sometimes I get bus sick. We had to do math and I hate math it is the worst subject in school. I could tell it was going to be a shocking, horrendous, miserable, atrocious, horrifying, disturbing, intense day. Then I had Spanish and I hate Spanish too. I’m never going to Spain or Mexico so why do I have to learn it. I didn’t have enough time for Mad Minute for math to finish it. I couldn’t find my read to self-book. When I found it read to self was over. I could tell it was going to be a shocking, horrendous, miserable, atrocious, horrifying, disturbing, intense day. At Music Mrs. Stakem said that I sang too loud. In Art I wanted to redo my panda but Mrs. Pascal said that it looked fine how it is. At PE I ran up the wall when we played Pepsi Coke and I busted open my tooth and hurt my arm. After school I had to get a cast for my arm. I didn’t have time to play because I had a lot of homework. I could tell it was going to be a shocking, horrendous, miserable, atrocious, horrifying, disturbing, intense day. My mom said I couldn’t watch any TV and I said why and she

said that it was no screen week. We had meatloaf for dinner and I hate meat loaf. I didn’t want to take a shower but I had to any ways. I had to go to bed at 7 PM. The bed wasn’t comfortable so I slept on the ground. I could tell it was going to be a shocking, horrendous, miserable, atrocious, horrifying, disturbing, intense day. I barely got anytime to sleep because it took me a long time to get ready to go to bed. Snow, Snow Snow, snow I don’t want you to go You’re here, there, you’re here everywhere Snow, snow snowball fight I through you with all my might Snow, snow icicles fall Icy in the hall Snow, snow sleigh, sleigh I leave and say hey Snow, snow snowflake, snowflake I see you You are on the top of my shoe The True Meaning of Christmas The true meaning of Christmas is Jesus’ birthday. I think it is the best holiday of the year. I really like the gifts too, but that doesn’t matter. Sometimes when I get so many presents, I overflow my room. I really like my elf too. I don’t know why. I just do. Poor me, I have to get gifts last because I am the oldest. I still have such a good time with my family. Christmas is the greatest holiday.

Georgina Wiley Gigi and the Shocking, Frightful, Miserable Day In the morning I fell out of bed with a thump. When I get dressed in my outfit I did not like because my overalls were in the wash. I really had to go to the bathroom but my sister was in the shower so I had to go down stairs naked with my underwear on holding my itchy outfit. Then I changed in my outfit and then I had to eat breakfast while I was doing my homework. On the bus my backpack slid down the aisle of the bus and I had to go get it when I got to school. I could tell it was going to be a shocking, frightful, miserable day. When I got to school I looked into my backpack and my water bottle was leaking and my homework got wet and the same with my library books. At Spanish I forgot to make the little n on the top of the n. At math class I did subtraction instead of addition. At read to self I read a book about when a dog died. At music I forgot to sing. At Art some paint got on the wall. At PE we had to do exercise the whole PE – it was not fun. I could tell it was going to be a shocking, frightful, miserable day. At recess I fell off of the tire swing. I was bleeding and I had to go to Mrs. Sacre. I missed the rest of recess. At lunch my sandwich fell on the ground. I was not happy. I want to go to Bald Head at the beach. Getting ready to go home I lost my favorite rock that I got a Luray Caverns. On the bus I tripped on the stairs. I could tell it was going to be a shocking, frightful, miserable day. When I got home my brother pushed me in the snow. I want to go to Bald Head at the beach. It was sleeting outside and I want it to be summer. When I went to do my homework, I

had left if at school. I could tell it was going to be a shocking, frightful, miserable day. I wanted to watch TV but my mom reminded me that it was a school day and the same with screen time. At dinner I forgot it was April Fool’s Day so my parents tricked me. They made me put on a bandana and they said that I am putting my hands in sludge but it was not, so I had to eat that. At the end of dinner they showed me what the sludge was – it was tomato soup. I had to do it for dessert too. They told me it was brain slime but it was noodles. I could tell it was going to be a shocking, frightful, miserable day. My dad made me take a shower and I hate showers. I want to move to Bald Head at the beach. When I was using my mouth wash I swallowed some. I had no pajamas in my drawer so I had to go to bed with my underwear on. My brother scared me from under my bed. It has been a shocking, frightful, miserable day. I still want to go to Bald Head at the beach. Christmas Elves On every Christmas my Elf Rosie goes in my stocking. One of our other elves is named Mark. Some other names of our elves are: Harrison, Eric, Annabelle, Jamie and Nick. Jamie is the baby. Rosie is my elf. We share Harrison. Our elves have pets. Their names are: Biscuit, Sparky, Charlie, Moose and Eve. Nick is a pocket elf. Annabelle is his older sister. A lot of elves are double jointed. Rosie is, Mark is, Nick is, Harrison is (kind of), Annabelle is, Erik is not. The reason I love elves is because they always have sneaky smiles. They are so loveable. They are like mini Santas. They are very sweet.

What I’ll do for Christmas

This Christmas I will rush downstairs and open all my presents and then I’ll look at all the scraps then throw all the scraps away. When my parents come down I will hide the presents behind my back and say, “I did not get any presents this year.” “Well what is in your stocking then?” my parents will say. “Candy and yummies for my tummy.” I will reply. Three hours later at 8:50 PM I sleep and then wake up at 12:00 AM and pour water on my sister. Then my sister will wake up and I will run into my room and pretend that I am asleep. This Christmas will be awesome. What I Am Thankful For I am thankful for my family because my family is fun. My family has four people in it and my family is nice. My dad is cool because he works as Best Buy and he shops with me at Best Buy. My mom lets me watch television and takes me to Hair Cuttery when I need a haircut. Cesi DeLong My Puppy Part 1 On Friday I will go to get my new puppy, Lilly. I will go to a hotel and we will take her back to the hotel after we get her. My puppy is an American Eskimo and it is miniature. It will take a long time to get there. It might take twelve hours to get there. I will go home on Sunday.

Frosty the Snowman, Rudolph the red nose reindeer and Santa. They were outside my window. We played all night. We put the tree up and I got presents too. Ho, Ho, Ho; thumpity, thump, thump and a red nose. They all left and went back to the North Pole. I got a toy train. The train was a steam engine. It was blue and gold and it made noises. I can control it. I gave my dad a pair of slippers. They were soft and they were brown. Christmas was fun this year.

Part 2

Snowflakes

Over the weekend, I went to West Virginia to get my new puppy. It took six hours to get there. All night she cried and I barely got any sleep but I still love her. It was fun! I love Lilly a lot.

Snowflakes you don’t have the same shape The snow can sometimes be sticky, like tape I do not like the sun The snow is so much fun I do not want the snow to go away

Cesi and the Miserable, Difficult Day I like it when the snow is on the hay Waking up my alarm went off and my mom put ice cubes down my shirt. Getting out of bed I tripped over my cat. I had steak for breakfast and I hate steak. I could tell it was going to be a miserable, difficult day. I missed the bus. I forgot to do my homework so I had to do it in the car. At music I was the last person to play an instrument. I could tell it was going to be a miserable, difficult day. When I got home my puppy chewed up my pillow. I had a miserable, difficult day. My mom says some days are like that. Christmas Story On Christmas Eve I heard a Thump, Thump, Thump and I heard a Ho, Ho, Ho. I saw a red nose. I saw

I want the snow to stay The Dragon Once upon a time the flying dragon sprayed its fire. It was mean. I was not scared. I am just a little girl. I had a unicorn, its name was rainbow. There was an evil king and he was jealous. The king rode the dragon. I sent the knights to defeat the evil king and his dragon. The mean dragon was green all the mean dragons were green. The good dragons are blue. I had a good dragon. There was a battle, a big battle. The knights came back the next day. The king was killed and everyone lived happily ever after.

Eoin Lester Eoin and the Ghastly, Nightmarish, Alarming Day In the morning, I stubbed my toe in the dark and the door closed on me. I knew it was going to be a ghastly, nightmarish, alarming day. When I was getting dressed the dresser fell on me. When that happened I knew it was going to be a ghastly, nightmarish, alarming day. When I finally got to school a ball came flying for my face. It knocked me over. I think I will move to Hawaii. At recess I got hit in the head by Toby. I knew it was going to be a ghastly, nightmarish, alarming day. At PE we played Pepsi Coke and I hate that game. At art I messed up and I hate when I mess up. At Spanish I we had to do paper work and I just hate that. It was very hard because it was hard to translate in my mind. I could tell it was going to be a ghastly, nightmarish, alarming day. On the way to the bus someone accidently tripped me on the concrete. It hurt a lot. On the bus ride home my phone battery died and Jack wouldn’t let me play on his iPad. I could tell it was going to be a ghastly, nightmarish, alarming day. When mom picked me up off of the bus, I wanted to get some ice cream and she said yes. When I got to the store the ice cream was all sold out. When we were driving on the road out tire went flat and a tow truck had to come pick us up. When we were getting towed home the tow truck broke down and the repair people had to come and repair it. We had to ask for another tow truck to come get us. When we finally got home the lamp in the living room fell down. It shattered everywhere and I couldn’t go in the living room for an hour

just because of the little pieces of glass. I could tell it was going to be a ghastly, nightmarish, alarming day. When I got into bed the cat scratched me on the face. My mom came in and I told her all about it. She said, some days are like that, even in Hawaii. Winter Winter, Winter you’re so fun But winter will not like the sun Snow falls from the golden sky Snowflakes I really wish I could fly But even winter ends Bye winter, I hope I see you What I am thankful for My Family My dad’s name is Zack.
