heathen as being anybody who is not Christian, Jewish, or Islamic. Since two thirds of the world's population, profess to hold beliefs other than those three, the word heathen could therefore be most insulting to a Sikh, a Hindu or a Buddhist. Returning to the nonsense of racial and religious discrimination, I sincerely believe that all humans have a deep-down wish to accept people at face value. The philosophy of Positive Spirit aims to build upon this base to create harmony and universal goodwill. We have much to do and we have the means to do it. What are we waiting for?
GOD, THE UNIVERSAL POWER SOURCE
LONG BEFORE the appearance of humans, simple cells, created from electrical and chemical reaction were multiplying and becoming ‘thought generating’. It seemed that cells were learning, thinking and becoming ‘ambitious’ to change and improve their lifestyle from day one. The subject is so mysterious that scientific explanations by those experts who should know, get over the problem by expressions, such as ‘nature is able to adapt etc. etc.,’ or ‘it is natural selection which does this, etc. etc.’ To those who deny the existence of a spiritual element, I challenge them to explain within the fields of chemistry, physics and biology alone, how a billion complex forms of life have developed. At a purely physical level, scientists are making huge strides in understanding DNA, genes, and the secrets of microbiology, but there is a growing humility in scientific circles about the actual sources of life and it is becoming impossible to explain it all in purely scientific terms. There is more credulance now about a master super intelligence, but the terminology of ‘divine power’ is so unscientific that few use the expression and it is never scene in scientific papers. Astronauts viewing the Earth and the stars out in space, all claim to feeling a spiritual power, something bigger and more important than their
