While you want to have some variety, unless you want to spend the whole day making different meals, it is a good idea to keep your cooking simple teriyaki chicken and quinoa contained. As I said earlier I tend to fire up the grill when I am cooking on the weekends. This works great because I can cook a lot of food all at once. Making individual meals one at a time is just not time efficient. If you spend all day Sunday working on making different meals for the week you may eat tastier foods, but it will be pretty hard committing a full day of your weekend to just cooking.
The value of the food is top notch. I usually order the Lunch Special #1 which costs $6.99. This includes the soup of the day, a generous helping of Pork Chow Mien, Pork Fried Rice, and a slow cooker teriyaki chicken and broccoli Skewer. This lunch plate could easily feed two people. I usually eat what I can, and take the rest of the meal home for dinner. For your order of slow cooker teriyaki chicken, you get to choose from 14 signature sauces ranging from mild BBQ to Medium to their hottest, Blazin sauce. I warn you now that Blazin is h-o-t. I can't make it past the Medium sauce myself! Other than wings, they do serve salads, sandwiches, burgers, appetizers, and dessert. The restaurant also has a bar area if you rather sit there and enjoy a few cold beers. For those who are of legal age to drink alcohol, you may want to try a bottle of soju. Although quite costly at $10 for a bottle, one bottle should be enough if you just want to satisfy your curiosity. Soju is a distilled beverage and traditionally made from rice. Its taste is somewhat comparable to vodka, and just like how we were warned, it is really a strong drink. Their menu at Hilltop is great and full of so much variety. They serve some really good pub appetizers. They serve items like Buffalo wings, Italian breaded zucchini sticks, pizza fries, veggie platters, and many other great appetizers. My favorites are their beer breaded fries, mushrooms and onion rings. They are really good. China Doll can be found on the corner of Highway 20 and 27th street in Bend. If you are headed west on Highway 20 you can't miss it on the right side of the street as you enter the city of Bend. From Highway 97 north of south, turn onto highway 20 and follow east to the end of town. China Doll is located on the north side of the street just before you leave Bend.
