Letter from the Editor -in-Chief www.glasshatmag.com Seasons Greetings, Readers! Warmest holiday wishes from the Glass Hat Magazine family to yours! Tis the season for love and creativity. Why not give yourself the gift of applying to be a featured artist! Give yourself, or even someone you know, the attention your art deserves?
I am very excited, and extremely proud, to share some big news with you!
Recently, we have added a new member to the GHM team. Nathaniel Goodwin, whom you may remember from the cover of our very first issue in July, as well as having written for us, is now the CEO of the Glass Hat Mag. He has some fantastic ideas to help the mag grow, some of which have already been set in motion. In such a short time, the GHM has come a long way. We started as an idea, but now we are a resounding success, all thanks to you. With the help of our new CEO, the consistent efforts of our writers and photographers, and submissions from our readers, we have only one way to go: up! Let’s all work to make the Glass Hat the most talked about mag ever! I look forward to seeing you in 2013!

Change: Embrace the Future My hope for this issue is to generate a positive change in the Glass Hat Magazine. Most people become instantly skeptical
when they think about change because change is defined as a variance from a routine or pattern. I am an avid supporter of transformations because I enjoy uncertainty. This is the reason I constantly switch up my work-out routine because I don’t want to get burned out from performing the same exercise each week.
An established magazine will have a well-defined niche with a format follow each month and will use their strengths to connect with readers. GHM is different and wants to push past normal artistic boundaries, so why not have a magazine that is full of a variety of local wonders each month. With this in mind, I am going to do my best each month to take you on an unfamiliar journey. I ask in return that everyone wears a seat belt and looks forward to an enchantingly bumpy ride. Safety is something that is very important, so please buckle up and be open minded for changes in the future. The latest news and highlights will be available on our website and remember the website put the OK in Oklahoma. I know that last sentence was a corny attempt to advertise but it sure as hell felt good to say it. Christmas is approaching rapidly and this means, food, family, and a present in the form of a Glass Hat Magazine! The right amount of mental preparation to survive the next year is necessary as the New Year will be very challenging and why not be your best and start the New Year off on the right track. I have big plans for the magazine and I want to share every moment with everyone that is involved with GHM. The time is now and we are going to do it big and make it happen. The proof will be in your December chocolate pudding; so let’s eat, read, and live a prosperous life together.

eing an award winning tattoo artist, how did it all start? One of my best friends had talked me into tattooing a “G” on him. That was 26 years ago.
Who and what inspires you?
I’m an artist. Everything inspires me. You know all those “Betchya can’t” people? They inspire me. The more challenging the better. Besides tattoo what other arts are in your wheelhouse? I used to oil paint when I was a kid, but when I found tattooing, I strayed from other mediums until I became extremely comfortable with tattooing itself. Now, I’ve been working mainly with mixing my mediums, mainly liquid acrylics, colored pencils, ink, and illustration markers, all on one piece! I’ve found a passion for mixed media. If you gave it up what would you do? I’d go completely insane!

Since we’re friends, you’ve confessed quite a bit of adversity in your life. What got you through it? I was raised by my grandfather, a WWII hero who fought under Patton and the Big Red One. Give up or quit was never a thought! What challenges have you set for yourself concerning your art? I’m a Scorpio, spontaneity breeds creativity so there’s not much need for challenges. In tattooing, those moments create themselves which is probably the reason for such a huge love of the medium.

What advice would you give your younger self? Never put a tool down and never pick a drug up. The best addictions come from success, not a party. Finally, what advice would you give to others who are interested in becoming an artist? My definition of an artist is anyone who follows their passion in whatever it is they do. Follow your passion, it is simply the hardest way to fail!

Bad Kitty Promotions “We really want to help girls new to the industry avoid the mistakes we made.” That is the mission behind Bad Kitty Promotions, and the primary goal Autumn Hill and Pamela Kay share as partners of the company they founded in November of 2011. Autumn has been in the modeling industry for over 5 years and has worked with Miss Swimsuit USA and other promotional companies in the past, where she enjoyed organizing special events. Pamela has been modeling for two years and enjoys working with other young models, as well as networking with local photographers organizing exclusive photo events. Both Autumn and Pamela have a passion for mentoring new models in the industry. In September of 2011 Autumn came to Pamela with the idea of creating their own business where they could not only mentor new models, but work with a wide range of venues and organizations to help promote anything from the venue itself, a product, or an event. Models in the business are encouraged to expand their portfolio and are
offered free mentoring advice by both partners and access to the company’s exclusive photographer, Allan Cich of Subtle Shades Photography. The number one priority of the company is to “bring the party” through tasteful and fun-entertaining guest interaction during an event, combined with online and printed advertising prior to the event, increasing visibility and revenue for any business working with the Kitties.

I am 26 years old, and I was born January 12th 1986. I am from Guthrie, Oklahoma. Swag! What obstacles have you faced rapping? Can you give me some specific details?
A guy came up to me and booed me during a live performance at Club Hard Times in Guthrie, Oklahoma. I kept going and rocked the show and people asked us to come back; so it was all alright.
What is the greatest achievement that you have accomplished as a rapper? Please elaborate.
The biggest accomplishment I have achieved is getting my voice heard. I have been taking small steps, and my goal is for my small steps to turn into huge leaps. The master plan is for us to take over. What is the worst experience you have come across as a rapper? How did you deal with the situation?
The worst experience is performing in front of no one. We had a performance at Brick-Town Live, and the audience consisted of a security guard and a bartender. The security guard and the bartender jammed out, laughed
and told us good job after the show. In the future, we have many music videos coming out, so we are going to keep on pushing. What are your rapping plans for the future? What are you going to do to reach your goal? I am going to keep on grinding and focus on coming out with new music and new videos for the future. What made you decide to become a rapper? I have always liked music. I went down to Detroit with my parents, and I liked the way the music sounded. I listen to music in my truck and I love the way music makes me feel.

Why did you assemble PRP?
We love hip and we are hip hop. PRP decided to go against what everyone else decides to do. People like to be all normal and stuff, but we try and be the most extreme hip hop artists out there, and we love what we do, man. I love music. How long have you been rapping in the group PRP?
We have been together in the PRP group since 2005, and I met C3 in 1998 in the 7th grade. We always have messed around free-styling and over time it got more serious. What is your name? David Washington

How old are you? Where are you from? 27 years old, from Guthrie, Oklahoma. Swag! What obstacles have you faced rapping? Can you give me some specific details? Sometimes when I have to perform and nobody is in the crowd it’s frustrating. When I perform, and I see nobody in the crowd, it builds my character because it means that I love what I am doing and it’s tough to keep going. What is the greatest achievement that you have accomplished as a rapper? Please elaborate.
The gigs and the opportunity to network with people that is high up in the industry. I got to perform at the Pogo-OKC, and that night we had the whole crowd fist pumping to our rap music. That was a dope performance. I also enjoyed shooting the beer pong video and the video was a huge success and is a big monster for us. What is the worst experience you have encountered as a rapper? How did you deal with the situation? I would say performing when nobody is there and being able to convert people to give our music a chance are the two difficult obstacles we have faced.

What are your rapping plans for the future? What are you going to do to reach your goal? We want to be bigger than the Beatles, and we have said this since day one. We are going to perform as long as we can, and we hope we can get on tour someday. Our goal is to become worldwide, so that everyone will know what we do and respect what we bring to the table. What made you decide to become a rapper? I always been around music and I listened to my parent jam out to music in my spare time. Music has always been in my life, and when I was two years old, I first broke my mother’s turn table because I was trying to scratch it like a hip hop record. All the people that have done it before me are unique and the things they bring allow the country to come together. It’s all good Music is what it is.
Who is your favorite rapper? Why? My favorite rappers of all time are Tupac and Biggie. Right now, I love Wiz Khalifa, Currency, and I am currently jamming the Kendrick Lamar album. Kendrick’s CD has not left my CD player yet. That is what I jam. Do you have any other talents besides rapping? I am pretty good at football, because I played football for OSU, but now I am old. I can cook well and I can do it all. What is your dream job? My dream job would be to be a president of a division 1 College. That is what I will do later on in my life. What is your rapping style?
I can rap slow or fast. I use it all when I rap because I am a talented rapper. What advice can you give to aspiring rappers that want to make rapping their career? Never stop or never quit, because you are going to face the depths of hell when it comes to trying to make it. Nobody will believe in you, but you got to dig deep and keep kicking ass to reach the top. It takes a while to make it in the industry, but once you do, it’s worth it. What is your biggest fear? My biggest fear would be to hang out in the forest and see Big Foot. Tell me something interesting about yourself that nobody would know? I can beat C3 in a game of oneon-one basketball.
My rapping style is random, and it changes like the weather in Oklahoma. I can sing and

Heather Harper In Front of the Camera What little girl didn’t grow up wanting to be just like the beautiful women seen on television and in magazines?
Beauty is not just something you see when you look on a person’s outward appearance alone, but comes from within as well. I became inspired by celebrity models of their ability to branch out and have multi-fascinate careers. I love this idea because not only am I a model, I enjoy being a photographer as well. There’s something about putting on a gorgeous outfit and getting my makeup and hair done that makes me feel so very good inside. It’s also about coming up with photo-shoot concepts and seeing them come to life that gives me such a creative high. I love that feeling, and that is why I have chosen to turn to the other side of the camera as a photographer.
I feel as though I am giving back in helping others find their high in this industry. Being both a model and
photographer can be hard work, but it is all worth it in the end. I believe you can be anything you want to be as long as you put your effort and all into it!
