ARTS

WHAT WE DO Outspoken Arts Scotland is an established Scottish charity that features performing and visual arts work in its year round programmes. We focus particularly on those artists, communities and organisations that are in the protected characteristics - women, older people, those with disabilities, Black, Asian and ethnic minorities, lesbian, gay, bi and trans people as well as youth groups and people of faith. We wish to create genuine paid engagement opportunities for artists, communities, and present live work for the enjoyment of audiences across Scotland.

COLLABORATION We have a number of exciting projects already in our plans and seek an opportunity to meet with like-minded organisations in Paisley and across Renfrewshire. If you are looking for interesting artists to meet and work with your participants or are developing new ideas and need producers and other collaborators, funding or other support ‌ we can help. We have a wealth of experience gained over 35 years and a passion and enthusiasm for people, their stories, dramas and creativity. We have recently completed work with Renfrewshire Leisure and Renfrewshire Council on their exciting events legacy plan, a result of the Paisley 2021 UK City of Culture bid.

COMMUNITY We also continue to work closely with professional colleagues across the arts sector such as the Tron Theatre, National Theatre of Scotland, Take Me Somewhere Festival, In-Motion Theatre Company and maintain close working links to Jean Cameron (former Bid Director of Paisley 2021). You can find out more about our work on our website outspokenarts.org We are open to new ideas and expressions of interest.
