General Information

Registration begins Monday, January 26

All activities will be filled on a first come, first served basis. Most of our activities have limited enrollment, so register early! There are 2 easy ways for you to enroll: 1. Register online. Go to www.oconeecounty.com/ ocprd then click “Registration,” or 2. Come by Oconee Veterans Park, Monday - Friday 8 a.m. - 9 p.m.

Payment Payee will be responsible for paying debit/credit card convenience fees. We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express payments. You may also pay by check or money order. Cash not accepted.

Refund Policy No refunds or credits will be granted unless requested at least 5 days (Monday – Friday 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.) before the session, program draft or league begins. If request is made 5 days prior to the start date, you will have two options: (1) Receive an immediate credit for the full amount valid for 12 months or (2) Receive a refund, minus a 25% administration fee. A pro-rated credit may be issued in the event an activity cannot be completed due to a documented medical problem. Registration convenience fees are non-refundable.

Security Policy

New Registration Process! We are pleased to offer our residents a new way to register and pay for programs using CommunityPass, our online registration service. You can now register for programs 24/7 on a secure site. Registration will still be available in house during office hours at Oconee Veterans Park and Herman C. Michael Park. Step 1 Go to https://register.communitypass.net/OconeeCounty. Step 2 Click on “Create an Account for Your Family Now!” Complete the family account form by filling in your information and clicking on “continue” until you finish your account setup. Your family account is now set up. Clicking “finish” will return you to the CommunityPass homepage Once your account is created, you will receive an email that contains your login information. Be sure to keep this email in a safe place so that you can continue to enjoy convenience of online registration. Step 3 Sign into your account and click “Register Now” and follow instructions. Your payment and personal information is safe. Our Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) software is the industry standard and among the best software available today for secure commerce transactions. It encrypts all of your personal information, including credit card number, name, and address so that it cannot be read over the Internet.

Start Smart Soccer

Youth Programs

Participants work together with their parent(s) to begin developing the motor skills necessary to participate in league soccer by utilizing positive reinforcement and fun activities. Oconee Spirit Soccer Program Coordinator: Jared Hightower Email: jhightower@oconee.ga.us The Oconee Spirit Soccer is a recreational soccer program designed to allow children, adolescents, and young adults with intellectual disabilities to learn the fundamentals of soccer while building coordination, social skills and teamwork with peers with and without disabilities. Operation Soccer Jersey for Kids

Bring all of your excess clean Soccer Jerseys and gear to Oconee Veterans Park Community Center and help us collect jerseys for needy kids in Haiti.

Core Performance Development Program Program Coordinator: Jared Hightower Email: jhightower@oconee.ga.us Kick Start your soccer skills with OCPRD’s Core Performance Development Program! This program will provide training sessions led by the coaches of Core Soccer, whom are former collegiate athletes and certified trainers. These coaches will offer a full spectrum approach to player development. Participants will get more touches and training on the ball, speed and agility training and higher level skills training. With focused instruction and positive reinforcement, this program can help improve weaknesses, maximize strengths and be a great supplemental training for players involved in Recreation, Club, or Scholastic level soccer. Introductory program to teach players basic skills and techniques for lacrosse. Offered in partnership with the Greater Oconee Area Lacrosse.

Clinic Practices conducted on Saturdays, games scheduled on Sunday. *Tryouts will be conducted Saturday, March 7 and each league will be limited to the 32 most skilled Oconee resident players. Pre-registration is required for tryouts. Fee required once participant is selected for the team.

Oconee County Little League 2015 Spring Ball Registration Registration– Includes Teeball, Baseball and Softball Online Registration for ALL Players is at www.oconeelittleleague.com from January 9th – January 30th, 2015. Returning Players – steps to register players that have played with OCLL at least one season since 2013 are as follows: • Log into your existing account at www.oconeelittleleague.com

where your account will be opened at the “Register” tab. • All participants associated with this account will be listed with a sentence stating “There are X number of new programs available” where you click the “Register Now” button to see the available programs and begin registering your child(ren). • If you need to add a child simply click “Add Participant” under the Register tab and follow the prompts for their registration. The R.E.C. After School Program Get out of school and into the park where we strive to provide Recreation for Every Child! We offer the best after school location, keeping your child actively engaged in a variety of fun activities through 6 p.m. Transportation is provided immediately after school to the Herman C. The program is held at Oconee Veterans Park and keeps your teen actively engaged during the hours immediately after school through 6:30 p.m. Transportation is provided from Oconee County public middle schools to the park. Summer Day Camp

Do you have activities arranged for your children this summer? A FANTASTIC season of activities is currently being planned. We offer opportunities in field trips, swimming, sports, crafts, games, nature walks, and much more! Join the FUN! Weekly sessions will begin Tuesday, May 26 and continue through Friday, July 31. Summer Day Camp will be conducted at Herman C. Michael Park. Teen Extreme Camp will be conducted at Oconee Veterans Park. The day begins at 7:30 a.m. and concludes at 6 p.m. Summer Day Camp Eligibility –Camp is open to participants who are residents of Oconee County and have turned age 6 on or before September 1, 2014 or will complete Kindergarten during the 2014-2015 school year. Teen Extreme Camp Eligibility – Camp is open to participants who are residents of Oconee County and have completed 6thgrade by the start of camp. Any participant turning 15 during the summer will not be eligible for any session after their 15th birthday. Registration Information – Sign–ups will be conducted 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. at Herman C. Michael Park beginning Monday, April 20 on a first come first served basis until all spaces are filled. Fees: $100 per week per child. First week’s payment is due in full at the time of registration. A $25 per child, per session, non-refundable deposit is due at registration to reserve any following weekly session. The balance of the weekly fee will be due on the Friday preceding each session for which the child is enrolled.

Apply for the Teen Leadership Challenge (TLC)! TLC is a leadership training program where teens experience and develop the necessary leadership and communication skills while working with Oconee County Parks and Recreation Department’s Summer Day Camp Program. Teens are coached in age appropriate learning, camp safety, counselor expectations, group dynamics, and being a positive role model. Participants will also have the opportunity to be certified in First Aid and CPR, gain valuable work experience, attend field trips and most of all HAVE FUN! Ages: Days: Sessions: Location: Fee:

Hatha Yoga - A mind/body practice of relaxation and rejuvenation using awareness, breath and movement to bring balance to the systems of the body. Yoga helps to increase flexibility and tone muscles while decreasing tension and relieving stress. This is a perfect class for beginners as well as those with some experience in yoga.

Fitness Center

Our fitness center located in the Community Center at Oconee Veterans Park features a wide array of state of the art cardiovascular and weight equipment including single and multi-station trainers. We offer FREE Wifi in our Fitness Center. Fitness memberships are required for the exercise facility. Memberships are available for purchase at the Community Center front desk or online. The large open air arena at Heritage Park was created with agricultural and special events in mind. The feeder barn has thirty-one stalls and a small show arena. There are separate wash racks for animal shows, rodeos and other large events. The park is conveniently located in Farmington on Highway 441, seven miles south of downtown Watkinsville and ten miles north of downtown Madison. Walking Trails

All of our parks have walking trails for everyone to enjoy. Herman C. Michael, Bogart Sports Complex and Oconee Veterans Park have paved walking paths. Trails at Heritage Park are open for seasoned hikers, mountain bike riders and/or horseback riders. Check our website for trail maps.

The 34,000 square foot community center is open with meeting space for community use, indoor walking track and fitness area, and a gymnasium. It houses the administrative offices for the department. In addition, the 197 acre park offers outdoor walking trails, tennis courts, soccer fields, baseball fields, Bark Park and a picnic shelter.
