General Information Registration Information - Registration begins July 8

All activities will be filled on a first come, first served basis. Most of our activities have limited enrollment, so register early! There are 2 easy ways for you to enroll: 1. 2.

Payment

We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express payments. You may also pay by check or money order. Cash not accepted.

Refund Policy

No refunds or credits will be granted within 5 days prior to a program draft or session start date. If you request a refund at least 5 days before the program begins, you have two options: (1) Receive an immediate credit for the full amount; or (2) Receive a refund, minus a 25% administration fee. In addition, a credit may be issued in the event an activity cannot be completed due to a documented medical problem. Credits granted may only be used for future OCPRD coordinated programs. Online registration convenience fees are non-refundable.

Inclement Weather/Rain out Policy

Cancellations due to weather on weeknights will generally not be made until 4 p.m. We will make every reasonable effort to contact head coaches/team managers with cancellation information and coaches/team managers will contact parents/players. Contact our Inclement Weather Hotline by dialing 706-769-2965 for current cancellations due to inclement weather conditions.

Parent Requirement

Youth Programs Free Recreation Football Combine

Program Coordinator – Trevor Ross Email: tross@oconee.ga.us Come get ready for football at the 2013 Recreation Football Combine. Players should wear cleats, shorts and a T-shirt, and bring a water bottle. Players will go through conditioning, agility, non-contact football drills, and conclude with a friendly 7 on 7. Combine is open to all Oconee County Residents regardless of where you play or if you play at all. The only requirement is to come on the day of your age group and sign a waiver. Combine will run from 6:00p.m. to 7:30 p.m.. Ages 7 & 8 - Monday July 29th  Ages 9 & 10 – Tuesday July 30th  Ages 11 & 12 – Thursday August 1st

Youth Tackle Football

Program Coordinator – Trevor Ross Email: tross@oconee.ga.us Are you ready for some football? Join the largest youth football league in the area. Uniform and certified equipment provided. Players ages 7 – 12 learn skills, fundamentals, teamwork, and sportsmanship in a competitive recreation league. Minimum playing time rules assure everyone has fun playing the game. Preseason practices are held three days a week on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6 – 7:30 p.m. Games begin Tuesday, September 4. After games start, practices will be held twice a week with one game. Season conducted August 5 – October 26. NEW this year! Junior (9&10) and Senior (11&12) will play teams from neighboring counties at least once during the season. Additionally, the Oconee Bowl Champion will play for a Lake Oconee Area Football League title (format to be determined)! Registration conducted through August 2 or until all spaces are filled. Fee: $140 Includes Helmet Shoulder Pads for loan and Pants and Jersey to keep. NFL Punt, Pass and Kick

Program Coordinator – Drew Torok Email: dtorok@oconee.ga.us Test your skills. Punt, Pass and Kick annual competition will be held Saturday, September 14 from 9:30 a.m. – 12 p.m. at Herman C. Michael Park on Field 2. Participation is open to boys and girls ages 8 – 15. Local competition winners will advance to the Sectional Round and contend for a chance to compete at the Atlanta Falcons Team Championship competition. Fee: FREE! 4


Youth Flag Football League

Program Coordinator – Drew Torok Email: dtorok@oconee.ga.us Get into the zone! Leagues are available for 5 – 6 and 7 – 8 years. The league offers players the opportunity to learn football fundamentals, team strategies and play formations without tackle contact. Practices and/ or games held two times a week on Tuesday evenings and Saturday mornings at the Oconee parks or school facilities. Season conducted August 20 – October 22. Registration deadline is August 2 or until all spaces are filled. Game jersey and flags provided. Fee: $65. League Age Evaluations Micro 5–6 No evaluations for 5-6 league Mite 7–8 Tuesday, August 13 at Oconee Veterans Park. Cheerleading

Program Coordinator – Whitney England Email: wengland@oconee.ga.us “T-D we want a Touchdown!” Come out and cheer for our youth recreation football teams. Girls ages 6 – 12 learn cheers and halftime routines. Squads cheer for their corresponding age group in our recreation tackle football league. Practices conducted two times per week at Oconee Veterans Park, beginning August 13, on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6 -7:30 p.m. Once football games begin, practices will be conducted on one evening a week with games on Monday, Tuesday or Thursday at a park or local school. Program conducted August 13 – October 26. Registration deadline is August 9. Cheer uniform and pompoms provided. Cheer uniform fitting day is Saturday, August 10, at Oconee Veterans Park. Age groups will be assigned times for uniform fittings. Fee: $135. Age Groups Pee Wee – Age 6 – 8 Juniors – Age 9 – 10 Seniors – Age 11 – 12 Request for team placement will not be considered unless it is for a sibling.

Volunteer Coaches Needed! Program Coordinator – Trevor Ross, Email: tross@oconee.ga.us We are looking for a few good coaches. Volunteers are needed to coach in our youth soccer, cheerleading, flag football and tackle football programs. Our programs focus on the FUNdamentals of the game. Coaches are required to complete a NYSCA certification course and consent to a criminal history check. NYSCA certification classes will be conducted at Oconee Veterans Park on Wednesday, July 31 and August 7 at 6:15 p.m. If you are interested in coaching, please contact our office at (706) 769-3965 today!

Youth Soccer Leagues Program Contact: Deanna Shaw Email: dshaw@oconee.ga.us Kick off the fall with OCPRD youth soccer leagues! We offer boys and girls leagues for ages 4 – 18. Practices conducted twice weekly on a Monday, Tuesday, OR Thursday AND Saturdays during the preseason beginning August 17. Season ends by November 2. Registration ends August 2 or until full. Age control date is August 1, 2013. Must be age 4 by August 1, 2013. We reserve the right to combine leagues if enrollment is not enough to warrant separating the boys and girls.

Request for team placement will not be considered unless it is for a sibling.

Start Smart Soccer

Program Contact: Trevor Ross Email: tross@oconee.ga.us Start Smart Soccer is a developmental program for boys and girls age 4. Participants work together with their parent(s) to begin developing the motor skills necessary to participate in league soccer by utilizing positive reinforcement and fun activities.

Recreation Junior Soccer Academy

Players are encouraged to register for the youth recreation soccer leagues for team competition. Recreation Soccer Academy

O.S.S.L - Oconee Spirit Soccer League

Program Contact: Deanna Shaw Email: dshaw@oconee.ga.us The Oconee Spirit Soccer League is a recreational soccer program designed to allow children, adolescents and young adults with intellectual disabilities to learn the fundamentals of soccer while building coordination, social skills and teamwork with peer players. Parent/Care Taker Organizational meeting held on Tuesday, August 20 at 6:15p.m. at Oconee Veterans Park Community Center. Ages 5 -25. Session DatesTuesdays August 27 – October 22. Location: Oconee Veterans Park Fee: $55.

Intramural High School Soccer League

Program Contact: Deanna Shaw Email: dshaw@oconee.ga.us Recruit your friends and PLAY! Form your own team to participate in this fun, recreational league. Only team entries accepted. Players must be in high school to participate. Games conducted at park and/or school facilities. Rosters must be submitted by no later than August 9. Teams will be co-ed and must have 2 girls per team. Fee: $540 per team due by August 9. 7

Program Coordinator – Tony Lathrup Email: tlathrup@oconee.ga.us Volleyball I Volley it up! Fun, instructional class for girls ages 9 - 11 that teaches basic volleyball skills and rules. Participants practice fundamentals through a variety of skill building activities and drills. Practices are held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:15 - 7:15 p.m. Program conducted August 20 - October 10 at Oconee Veterans Park. All participants receive a t-shirt. Fee: $65. Volleyball II Spike it down! Fun, instructional class for girls ages 12- 14 that allows participants to advance their volleyball skills. Participants will begin practicing skills and advance into match play during later classes. Practices held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 7:30 – 8:30 p.m. Program conducted August 20 – October 10 at Oconee Veterans Park. All participants receive a t-shirt. Fee: $65.

Oconee County Little League 2013 Fall Ball Registration Includes Baseball, Tee Ball and Softball

Online Registration for ALL Players Returning Players - steps to register players that are returning from Spring 2013 are as follows: 1- Log into your existing account where your account will be opened at the “register” tab. 2- All participants associated with this account will be listed with a sentence stating “there are X number of new programs available” where you click the Register Now” button to see the available programs and begin registering your child. The R.E.C. Afterschool Program

Get out of school and into the park where we strive to provide Recreation for Every Child! We offer the best after school location; keeping your child actively engaged in a variety of fun activities through 6 p.m. Transportation is provided immediately afterschool to the Herman C. Michael Park. Daily snack is also provided. The program is open to all Kindergarten through 5th grade Oconee County residents. Please call (706) 769-3966 for space availability. Fee: $75 per week per child.

Teen Extreme

Get out of school and into the park where we take after school to the Extreme! Oconee County teens, 6th - 8th grade, participate in after school activities such as sports skills, homework assistance, games, and more. The program is held at Oconee Veterans Park and keeps your teen actively engaged during the hours immediately after school through 6:30 p.m. Transportation is provided from Oconee County public middle schools to the park! Fee: $75 per week per child.

All Day Camps

Program Coordinator – Jessica Tiller Email: jtiller@oconee.ga.us All day camps are offered to Oconee County students on select days when school is not in session. Camp is open from 7:30 a.m. – 6 p.m. Snacks are provided but students must bring a sack lunch. The day is filled with activities and games to keep the participants engaged. All Day Camps will be offered this fall on the following dates: October 11 and 14 November 25 - 27 December 20 Fee: $30 per day, per participant

Homeschool P.E.

Program Coordinator – Jessica Tiller Email: jtiller@oconee.ga.us Physical education classes will be offered at the Herman C. Michael Park gym for homeschooled boys and girls age 5 - 13. Program conducted Tuesdays from 1 – 2 p.m. Students must be registered in advance. Fall classes will begin on September 3, 2013 and will run for 12 weeks. Fee: $50. 9


Adult Programs Adult Flag Football

Team registration packets available online at www. oconeecounty.com/ocprd , click on Adult Athletics – Flag Football or come by Oconee Veterans Park Monday – Friday from 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. Games played at OCPRD facilities beginning September 8. Game days are Sunday afternoons for Church leagues and Sunday afternoon and/or Wednesday evenings for Open leagues. Team Registration Deadline is Tuesday, August 20. Manager’s Meeting scheduled for Thursday, August 22 at 6 p.m. at Oconee Veterans Park. Fee: $540, due at the time of registration. Leagues: - Men’s Church A, Church B, and Open League - Women’s Open * Leagues with less than four teams may be combined with other leagues.

Senior Stretch

Come stretch and tone with Sandy Bishop at the Oconee Veterans Park Community Center gym. Conducted Tuesdays and Thursdays 9 - 10 a.m. throughout the school year, beginning September 10. Yoga Classes

Celia Brooks, Certified Yoga Instructor

Participants should provide their own yoga mat and 1 – 2 firm blankets. Hatha Yoga - A mind/body practice of relaxation and rejuvenation using awareness, breath and movement to bring balance to the systems of the body. Yoga helps to increase flexibility and tone muscles while decreasing tension and relieving stress. This is a perfect class for beginners as well as those with some experience in yoga. Sessions held at Oconee Veterans Park Community Center. Fee: $75 Sessions Offered: Session I: Tuesday mornings from 10-11:30 a.m. September 3 - October 29 Session II: Wednesday evenings from 6-7:30 p.m. September 4 - October 30 *No class on October 1 and 2.

Additional Activities Herman C. Michael DISC Golf Course - "The HERM” Our 18 hole course is open to the public during park hours.

Walking Trails

All of our parks have walking trails for everyone to enjoy. Herman C. Michael, Bogart Sports Complex and the Oconee Veterans Park have paved walking paths. Trails at Heritage Park are open for seasoned hikers, mountain bike riders and/or horseback riders. Check our website for trail maps.

Picnic Shelters

Three shelters are available which can be rented for your next party or event! Locations for the shelters are: Herman C. Michael Park, Oconee Veterans Park, and Bogart Sports Complex. Call (706) 769-3965 to request rental information and schedule your event. Check out our smaller picnic shelters at Oconee Veterans Park that are available on a first come, first serve basis!

Indoor Track and Gymnasium

The indoor track and gymnasium at Oconee Veterans Park Community Center requires a onetime membership fee for use. Please check our website for the current open gymnasium calendar or call the Open Gymnasium Hotline at 706-769-3970. Community Center Hours: Monday – Friday 7 a.m. - 9 p.m. aturday 8 a.m. – 9 p.m. Sunday 1 - 9 p.m. Indoor Track Membership Fees 14 – 59 Years Membership Card - $5 per person Open Gymnasium only Membership Fees, 12- 13 years Membership Card - $5 per person Membership Card - No fee for persons under 12 years or 60 years and older Note: Persons 12 -13 are only permitted in the gymnasium.

Fitness Center

Our fitness center located in the Community Center at Oconee Veterans Park features a wide array of state of the art cardiovascular and weight equipment including single and multi-station trainers. We offer FREE Wifi in our Fitness Center. Fitness memberships are required for the exercise facility. Memberships are available for purchase at the Community Center front desk or online. The large open air arena at Heritage Park was created with agricultural and special events in mind. The feeder barn has thirty-one stalls and a small show arena. There are separate wash racks for animal shows, rodeos and other large events. The park is conveniently located in Farmington on Highway 441, seven miles south of downtown Watkinsville and ten miles north of downtown Madison.
