Students have the opportunity to develop a program of study related to their academic needs. It is located in Accra, the capital of Ghana, which has a lively nightlife, affordable restaurants, and decidedly "non-touristy" atmosphere that makes it a real resource for the participants of this program. Participants will have the opportunity to enroll in regular university classes at the University of Ghana. Prior to departure, participants select an individual program of study from the more than 350 courses available to overseas students. Fields of study include archeology, architecture, broadcasting, business, communications, computer science, criminal justice, earth sciences, ecology, education, engineering, fine, visual and performing arts, journalism, health and nutrition, history, humanities, information technology, language study, law, linguistics, literature, math, natural and physical sciences, philosophy, physical education, practical classroom experience, social sciences, and sports science. Housing is in university residence halls. All instruction is by the University of Ghana faculty.
