Bison Tours Looking for an exciting family adventure? Consider visiting the Sandsage Bison Range and Wildlife Area. Managed by the Kansas Dept. of Wildlife, Parks and Tourism the Bison Range is home to the oldest publicly owned bison herd in Kansas. Located within the Sandsage Prairie ecosystem just south of Garden City a unique variety of native plants and animals can be viewed on the area. Trained volunteers from the Friends of the Sandsage Bison Range provide safe and informative tours of the area as well as hosting special events throughout the year.
