Victorian Traveling Resource Center ready for use By Vanessa Whited Special Collections is very excited to announce that, after a lot of hard work, the Victorian Traveling Trunk Resource Center is completed and ready for check-out! We are very excited to be able to offer this resource to educators and their students, and we hope they enjoy bringing history to life in their classrooms by taking a step back into the Victorian Era. In addition to being a fun, interactive way for students to learn about a bygone era, our resource center includes lesson plans and activities for fourth, fifth, and eighth grade that fulfill the Georgia Performance Standards. Our traveling resource center encompasses the reign of Queen Victoria, spanning the Gilded Age (18781889), and the Progressive Era (1890-1913). It includes original and reproduction Victorian artifacts, such as lye soap, fashion elements like lace gloves and a top hat, literature, afternoon tea items, and much more. We sincerely hope to share our resources and knowledge with the community, and we believe our very first interactive traveling resource center is the perfect way to do so. The lesson plans, additional materials, and more information is available online at: http://libguides. gcsu.edu/victorian. Please contact Kate Pope at (478) 445-0988 if you are interested in reserving the traveling resource center.
