The EKG Monitor Technician Program focuses on Acute and Critical Care Heart monitoring and reflects the latest knowledge in the Cardiac field. It begins by covering all the basics of arrhythmia interpretation, covers cardiac anatomy and physiology, and clinical interpretation of the electrocardiography and pacemaker rhythms. This program can be taken by a student with either no EKG training or by a student who previously had basic EKG training interpretation. Phlebotomy (National Certification) (Hours: 232)

Phlebotomy training prepares the student to draw blood specimens from patients for the purpose of testing and analyzing blood. A phlebotomist's job includes maintenance of equipment used in obtaining blood specimens; the use of appropriate communication skills when working with patients; the selection of venipuncture sites; the care of blood specimens; and the entry of the testing process into the computer, as well as clerical duties associated with record keeping of the blood tests. This course consists of theory and clinical experience in performing blood collections. You must be a high school graduate or have your high school equivalency, CPR certified or scheduled to take Healthcare Provider CPR at PCC, and meet immunization requirements. Nursing Assistant II

This course is designed to meet the training requirements for becoming qualified to be a Medication Aide. This course will cover the six rights of medication administration for no-licensed personnel. Topics will include medication administration via the oral, topical and instillation routes, medical asepsis, hand hygiene, terminology, and legal implications. Upon completion, you should be able to take the competency exam and demonstrate skills necessary to qualify for listing on the North Carolina Medication Aide Registry. You must be a Nursing Assistant I to work as a Medication Aide in a Skilled Nursing Facility. Cost: $80; book is approximately $15.

The Nursing Assistant I course prepares graduates to provide personal care and perform basic nursing skills. It includes classroom, lab, and clinical learning experiences. Students who desire to enroll in this class must meet admission requirements. At the end of the course, the successful graduate will receive a certificate of course completion and assistance with the application process for the NACES/Pearson Vue NC State Competency Examination ($101). Cost: $213; book is approximately $40.

The Nursing Assistant II course teaches graduates to perform advanced nursing procedures. It includes 80 hours classroom/ lab and 80 hours clinical learning experiences. Students desiring to enroll in this class must meet admission requirements, be CPR certified, and have a current listing as an NA I with the Division of Health Sciences Regulations in Raleigh. Upon successful completion, the NA II graduate will be listed with the NC Board of Nursing with employment opportunities at the hospital, doctor's office, and home health levels. This course offers a Refresher on Nursing Assistant I materials and skills. You are eligible if your NA I is expired (by no more than 5 years) or if you are certified in another state and desire certification in NC. This 22-hour course is part of the NC Motorcycle Safety Program. In this class, riders will learn the basics of operating a motorcycle. 100% attendance of all scheduled class hours is mandatory. EXPLORE! Youth Programs Scuba & Snorkeling Academy (Ages 10-18) Experience what it takes to become a scuba diver! Campers will be introduced to the basics of scuba diving and snorkeling. We will start the week with classroom introductions but will soon take to the pool for hands-on experience! *Students will be required to pass a basic swim test before the first pool session. Learn top notch tricks while supporting your skills and greatly enhancing your abilities. Offered by the riders of ProTown BMX, students will participate in groups of similar skills and age. Course will offer safety education, bike maintenance, general skatepark etiquette, and skills/tricks using different ramps. All participants need to be able to ride a bike without training wheels. Any bike will do but prefer a BMX type bike with 2 pegs, rear hand brakes, and a free wheel. Also required are proper fitting helmets and knee pads. Protown BMX will have some demo bikes available to use with helmets and knee pads for purchase at discounted prices.

Golf Camp (Ages 8-16) This four-day camp is geared for juniors of all ability levels. Camp will introduce the game of golf including rules and etiquette, full swing, and short game fundamentals. On-course opportunities will be provided. Golf clubs are recommended but not mandatory. Bradford Creek Golf Course can provide clubs if needed.

Meteorologist Marvels (Ages 7-11) Join us as we set forth to EXPLORE exactly what a meteorologist does each day and what they use to predict the weather. By the end of the week, you will know all about weather, how it occurs, and you will even have created your very own weather tools to take home and make your own weather station. We will also have a visit from a REAL meteorologist to check out our weather skills!

Physics for Flight (Ages 7-11) Ever wondered how a plane stays in the air? Join us as we EXPLORE the physics behind flight and the properties of air. By the end of the week, you will know how air can be so amazing that it allows a plane to fly, a parachute to work, and gives windmills the push they need to create energy. You will make you very own models of these as well. Come on out and have a BLAST with AIR!

Nature Discovery (Ages 7-11)

Do you like to be outdoors? Are you curious about insects? Love spiders? Fly on over to this nature loving camp as we EXPLORE some of the things you discover in the great outdoors. We will be examining owl pellets while we learn about how all of nature works together to survive through the Food Web. Come discover Nature with us for the week!

Beginning Golf: Bradford Creek, BMX Camp: Reimage Church, Archery: PCC Range, Scuba & Snorkeling: Greenville Center and Minges ECU pool. All other course locations are to be determined at this time.

Fees Registration fees are $115 per class ($150 for BMX Camps, $75 for Golf, $225 for REAL Entrepreneurship, and Scuba $125) and are non-refundable unless a class is cancelled. Fees may be paid by check, money order, Visa or MasterCard (debit or credit). When paying by check, a separate check must be written for each child enrolled.

Insurance Student Accident Insurance is available for purchase, but is not mandatory, for the term of your childâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s enrollment.

Cancelled Courses and Changes Pitt Community College reserves the right to cancel any course prior to the first meeting due to limited enrollment. In such a case, you will be notified and your fee will be refunded. We also reserve the right to change instructors. TURN PAGE FOR REGISTRATION FORM

Transportation The parent or guardian is responsible for transportation to and from classes, regardless of class location. The student is expected to arrive 15-20 minutes before the class start time. All students should be picked up promptly when class is over.

Breaks There will be a scheduled break time for each class. During this time, students may eat snacks brought from home or purchased from campus drink and snack machines. Explore Camp is not responsible for money lost in machines.

Lunch Students must provide their own meals. Students may not leave campus for lunch unless accompanied by a parent or guardian.

2 Ways to REGISTER

• Registration is on a FIRST COME-FIRST SERVED basis.

• Any adult 18 years of age or older (and out of high school) may register for a course. • Individuals 16-18 years old may register only with written permission from their high school official. • Pitt Community College reserves the right to change schedules at any time and to add or withdraw courses. • No walk-in registration on the first day of class. • You must register three days before the class start date. • Payments accepted include check, money order, and credit card. NO CASH! • First time students must complete and turn in the student data form.

Refund Policy • No refunds or transfers for Self-Supporting (SEF) courses unless the course is

canceled by Continuing Education. • Refunds are automatically processed for all courses by the college if a course is canceled by Continuing Education. The College may refund registration fees under the following circumstances: • If a student officially withdraws from the class prior to the first class session, the student will receive a 100% refund. • If a class is canceled due to insufficient enrollment, the student will receive a 100% refund. • After a class begins and a student officially withdraws from the class prior to or by the 10% point of the scheduled hours, the student will receive a 75% refund. * This refund is limited to the registration fee and does not include accident insurance, liability insurance, textbooks, or supplies. To officially withdraw for a refund, students must sign a refund form on or before the 10% point of the class.
