Nutrition Advice Mary Jo Neumann suggests that one of the easy ways to improve health and well-being is to embrace real, whole foods. “You have to embrace healthy food and enjoy food preparation,” said Neumann. “The most dangerous thing out there is Mountain Dew and diet Mountain Dew. The sugars, or worse, the aspartame, they aren’t good for you. And when did soda become okay for breakfast? It used to be a treat, but now it’s so common. It is addictive.” Neumann cooks with coconut oil, and notes that she has avoided trendy and fad dieting over the years. “If it is too good to be true, it probably is,” she said. “But there is nothing naturally bad. We’ve heard about good carbs, bad carbs, good fats, bad fats … in the ’80s there were no fats, but sugar was okay.
