Contemporary Talents Winter GALLERY2005-2006RUSSIApresents

Today, we are pleased to present eight “next generation” painters whom we feel embody the best of classical Russian realism and impressionism. They all have impeccable credentials and enjoy success in their own countries and abroad. It should be noted that more than a handful of them can trace a teaching lineage back to Ilya Repin (Fechin’s teacher) himself and, therefore, it should be no wonder they all take their responsibility of preserving the classical tradition seriously. We are now confident the best way to fully appreciate and understand art of the Soviet Period is to show it alongside works of talented contemporary painters—to understand its future influence and not just its roots.

It was five years ago that we first began to carry works by Alexander Kremer. Internally, it was a monumental decision to make our first move away from the core of the “Soviet Generation”—or, “old art” as we and our clients liked to call it. Needless to say, our clients enjoyed Kremer’s paintings as much as we did, and the search was on to find more great young painters.

We hope you enjoy this “sampling” of works by these fine artists.
