A Message from the President Team, With summer nearing its final weeks and the fall season quickly approaching, I want to take a moment to reflect back on the 2017 fall hurricane season. As power begins to come back on for the majority of Puerto Rican residents and with the 2018 hurricane season upon us, I am reminded of the valiant efforts of our employees a year ago. At times it felt like the hurricane season would never end, with three hurricanes dealing damage that took weeks and months to comeback from. Without hesitation, hundreds of G4S employees rose to the occasion, eager to help others in need. In last November’s issue of G4S News, after the three hurricanes had left us and wildfires in California had begun to be contained, I wrote to you telling everyone how proud we are of our G4S Security Officers for standing post during and after the storms and for your efforts in helping to rebuild communities. That pride still resonates today. We have been and will undoubtedly be faced with hardships in the future, but if 2017 has taught us anything, we are willing and able to help our fellow G4S employees in moments of need. The hurricane season is unpredictable, and for all G4S employees who live in areas that can be affected, now is the time to prepare for a potential landfall, not when it is at our doorstep. On Page 8 our G4S Safety team has provided us with ways that we can prepare for a hurricane as well as access to important information. If you live in an area that could be hit, please take a second to familiarize yourself with that content and be safe this season. Again, I want to say thank you to every single one of our G4S employees, not only for your hurricane efforts last year, but for all that you do to make us into the company we are today. We would not be who we are without your work every single day, and we appreciate all of your efforts.

Did You Know About? G4S and Habitat for Humanity G4S and Habitat for Humanity of Palm Beach County began their relationship in 2011 when 50 G4S volunteers painted the Habitat Thrift Store in Jupiter, Fla. The relationship grew in 2013 when G4S sponsored their first home, also in Jupiter. Employees of G4S HQ volunteered more than 400 hours for the Mateo Family throughout May and June, with the dedication taking place in September. G4S sponsored a second home in 2015 for the Manzano-Matey family in Jupiter and sponsored a third and fourth home in 2016 and 2017 for the Lovett and Anderson families, respectively. The company’s fifth sponsored home for Cartiana Auguste was dedicated in August of 2018.

Sincerely,

G4S has had three G4S Women’s Build teams in 2016, 2017 and 2018, while the 2018 G4S Women’s Build team worked on Cartiana’s home.

Drew Levine President, G4S Secure Solutions (USA)

In total, more than 200 G4S employees have volunteered their time to Habitat for Humanity while volunteering a combined 1,000+ hours.

G4S All Stars G4S Security Officer Helps in Medical Emergency

G4S Security Officer Helps Man Who Suffered Neck Injury

L to R: G4S Security Officer Megan Eastep; G4S Director, Strategic Accounts, Dave Selan

COLUMBUS, Ohio — When an emergency situation arises, you may not always have long to consider what to do. Instead, you may have just enough time to spring into action. When an individual pulled off the road and into a G4S client’s parking lot, G4S Security Officer Megan Eastep did just that. The individual was suffering from a medical emergency and a second person with them began signaling to Eastep. Eastep immediately responded, calling 9-1-1 for assistance before administering CPR until paramedics arrived. Congratulations to Security Officer Eastep for her quick reaction and her ability to help someone in need.

CPO David Montoya

BLOOMINGTON, Ill.- When patrolling, the security of the site is often the main priority. But when CPO David Montoya came across a man exhibiting unusual behavior, he made a point to make sure the man was okay. After Montoya spoke to the individual, the man said that he had fallen on his head at a trampoline park and heard his neck crack. Montoya realized the man was exhibiting symptoms of a serious injury and contacted emergency services who took the man to the hospital. Two weeks later, the man returned to personally thank Montoya for helping to save his life.

Congratulations to CPO Montoya for his awareness and compassion to someone in need.

Lt. Fleek Helps Fellow G4S Security Officer

L to R: Reginald Mims; Lt. Ronald Fleek; Shift Supervisor Tangelo Larrie-Mackey; Alberto Abreu; Director, Operations, Florida Region, Paul Burbridge

ORLANDO, Fla. — G4S Security Officers are assigned to posts to provide top of the line security for our customers, but equally important is making sure that every security officer on post is safe as well. When Lt. Ronald Fleek was on a client site during a shift change, he noticed that fellow G4S Security Officer Tangelo Larrie-Mackey looked unwell and he offered to call EMS. After initially refusing, Fleek remained with Larrie-Mackey and insisted that she allow him to drive her to the nearest emergency room. When they arrived at the ER, the physician found that Larrie-Mackey had suffered a stroke and credited Fleek with saving her life. Big Shout Out to Lt. Fleek for taking the time and precaution to make sure his fellow security officer was okay.

LOS ANGELES, Calif. — Sometimes the role of a security officer extends beyond just providing security. In Los Angeles, a young boy on psychiatric hold at a hospital required security to be with him at all times. A nurse on staff noticed the impressive care that the G4S Security Officers and commended their efforts. “Instead of assuming the role of guard, I have watched each (G4S) security officer assume the role of guardian. Playing with the kid, taking him for walks and getting him something to eat. They have gotten him clean clothing and someone even brought him a yo-yo to play with. They are first class.” A special Shout Out to the entire team for their great efforts.

G4S Payroll

Introducing Daily Pay

In the coming weeks, we will be launching a new program to employees called Daily Pay. Our goal with Daily Pay is to give you control of when you get paid for the work you have already done. We understand that sometimes costs come up without any warning which requires you to have access to necessary funds. Maybe it’s a car repair that you didn’t expect, or a sale that ends before your next paycheck is distributed, whatever it is, with Daily Pay, those funds will be available for you. So what is Daily Pay? Daily Pay is a simple to use program that will put you in control of when you get paid for hours you have already worked. With the tap of a button, you can request money to be instantly deposited into the bank account or prepaid card of your choice. You control how much and when you get paid and you can use this service as often or as little as you need to. Daily Pay will be available by October. How does it work? As you work throughout the week, you build up an available balance based on worked hours you have already completed. Then, you can transfer money from your available balance when you need it. Depending on how quickly you want the money to transfer, there is a fee starting at $1.25. All employees will be able to take advantage of Daily Pay, regardless of if you are hourly or salary. As always, the payroll team is here to help you in any way possible. If you have any questions, please contact your local office for assistance, call HQ Payroll at (888) 597-5476, or email notify_payroll_dept@usa.g4s.com.

G4S Safety Moments: Hurricane Safety

Hurricane Safety and Preparation How to Prepare for a Hurricane

June 1 marked the beginning of the 2018 Atlantic hurricane season. While Hawaii recently faced a potential hurricane landfall, the most active month historically is September. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has already predicted that there is a 35% chance of an above-normal season, and a 40% chance of a near-normal season, with an estimate of at least five hurricanes and at least one major hurricane. If 2017 taught us anything, a devastating hurricane can hit at any time, and at any place. As the calendar turns into August and we approach the one-year anniversaries of hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria, it is also the time to prepare your home and family. Ways to Prepare • Make sure you have three days worth of water (one gallon per person per day) and food. • Canned foods, peanut butter, jelly, salt-free crackers, protein bars, dry cereal, cookies or other non-perishable food is the best option • Flashlight and extra batteries • Portable, rechargeable batteries • Get a first aid kit with ointments, bandages, eyewash, pain relievers and other emergency items • Be sure that you have enough medications and vitamins If a hurricane does hit, listen to emergency instructions. If you are told to evacuate, do so immediately. If you have a generator, use it outdoors only and away from windows and do not walk, swim or drive through flood waters. Not only can there be hazardous materials in the water, but just six inches of fast-moving water can knock you down while one foot of moving water can sweep your vehicle away. G4S implores you to be safe this hurricane season and prepare now before a hurricane is on your doorstep. The health of you and your family is the most important thing during a natural disaster. Be sure to regularly check the National Hurricane Center for updates (www. nhc.noaa.gov) and familiarize yourself with emergency routes and shelters around your home. For more information on how to be prepared in the hours before, during and after a hurricane, visit www.ready.gov/hurricanes. To get additional safety information, contact your local office or send an email to safety@usa.g4s.com.

Inside G4S

Handling 2017’s Hectic Hurricane Season

Clockwise from top left: G4S employees assisting those affected by Hurricane Maria; the family of G4S employees evacuate in Hurricane Harvey; G4S’ team in Delray were recognized for their efforts during Hurricane Irma.

In 2017, communities in Texas, Florida and Puerto Rico were devastated by a trio of disastrous hurricanes: Hurricane Harvey, Irma and Maria. Combined, the three hurricanes caused between $190 and $285 billion in damage across the regions, and residents of Puerto Rico are still working to pick up the pieces caused by Hurricane Maria. While each hurricane caused catastrophic damage, G4S did everything it could to help support G4S employees and clients that called each region home. In total, G4S and our employees raised tens of thousands of dollars to support those affected by the storms to help with purchasing needed supplies, as well as donating necessary food and supplies. G4S also set up an Amazon Wishlist that employees from across the country used to order and send supplies to those affected. In addition to providing funds and resources, G4S deployed 900 G4S Security Officers from 88 offices to Texas, Florida and Puerto Rico to aid in the recovery. When security officers arrived, they assisted with securing 710 client locations while also supplying aid to G4S employees whose lives had suddenly been turned on their head. G4S also supported employees who had been displaced by the storms by setting them up in hotels. For G4S Security Officers who were based in Florida but were providing aid in Houston following Hurricane Harvey, G4S helped their families in Florida prepare for the storm and put them in a fortified hotel to ensure that they were safe. June 1 marked the official beginning of the 2018 Atlantic hurricane Season, which means now is the time to begin to prepare, not when a hurricane is on your doorstep. More details on how you can prepare for a hurricane and items to stock up on beforehand in case a hurricane does make landfall near you are available on Page 8.

G4S Safety: Physical Fitness

Importance of Physical Fitness

Physical fitness is a vital part in maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Partnered with good nutrition, physical fitness can help improve your physical and mental health, while also lower your risk for heart disease, diabetes, cancer and relieve stress. But going to the gym every day can be difficult when your day is already packed. The good thing is you don’t have to be a weight room warrior to work on your fitness. Experts from UCLA’s David Geffen School of Medicine say that physical fitness for just a half hour a day, five days a week, can help lower your risk for diabetes, high blood pressure and poor circulation. Better yet, there are ways that you can remain physically active, even while at work. Ways to Wellness at Work • Take the stairs instead of the elevator • Walk to a coworkers desk instead of contacting them by email or phone, if possible • Take the time to stretch, regardless of if you are sitting behind a desk, standing post or on a patrol Stretches you can do from your desk or chair Hands and Arms • Stretch your arm out in front of you with your hand flexed up like you are a traffic cop. Then, grab your fingers with your opposite hand and gently pull them back. Hold this for 30 seconds on each arm. Back and Legs • Lace your fingers together and lift your arms over your head, making sure to keep your elbows straight. Then, press your arms as far back as you can and slowly lean to the left and then to the right. • While seated, rest your heel on the floor with your knee straight. Gently lean forward until a stretch is felt behind your knee/thigh. Keep your low back straight and hold for 20-30 seconds, repeating three-four times on each leg. Neck and Shoulders • Sit up straight in your chair with your feet flat on the floor. Bring your chin toward your chest and roll your right ear to the right shoulder. Take 8 to 10 breaths and then switch the other side. • Clasp your hands and bring both palms to the back of your head. Sitting upright, begin to gently press your hands forward and down, tucking your chin into your chest. As you press down, use your hands to gently pull your head away from your shoulders to intensify the stretch. Hold here for at least 30 seconds.

Priority Care 365 (PC365)

G4S is committed to providing a safe work environment and we encourage all of our employees to be mindful of their safety and their health. We are also committed to providing quality care, and in October we will be offering a new service to our employees called Priority Care 365 (PC365), a free service available to all G4S employees. PC365 offers a registered nurse 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, helping you manage workplace injuries or illnesses over the phone. How does PC365 help? PC365 provides you with direct access to a registered nurse (RN) at any time of the day regarding injuries or illnesses suffered while on shift. Trained RN’s help you receive the right treatment at the right time, which could be as easy as simple first aid. If you have any hearing issues, PC365 also offers a national relay center for the hearing impaired. PC365 utilizes the nationally approved and standardized Dr. David Thompson Adult Medical Triage Guidelines to ensure that the appropriate recommendations are given by the nurse.
