A Message from the President Team, Happy Holidays! As the year comes to a close, I want to thank everyone for their contributions in making 2017 into the year it was. We had our challenges, but as a company we came together and will be entering 2018 in a great position. Throughout the year we experienced moments that defined who we are as individuals and as a company. The response of our employees from across the country during the hurricanes and wildfires provides the best definition: we are a group that perseveres and supports those in need. To those volunteering to deploy to affected areas to the teams and individuals that donated their personal resources, thank you.

Meet Your G4S Leader Kurt Takahashi President AMAG Technology (A G4S Company) Background:

Kurt Takahashi joined AMAG in 2015 as Senior Vice President of Sales. Kurt began his security career in 1995 at Sensormatic Corporation before moving to ADT Security Services, Tyco Integrated Security, Arecont Vision and eventually Quantum Secure prior to beginning with AMAG. A graduate of California State University Long Beach, Kurt is also a board member for forthechild.org.

Did You Know About?

Employee Assistance Program National Suicide Prevention Lifeline In the United States, close to 45,000 individuals die every year by suicide, making it the 10th leading cause of death in America. Additionally, nearly 500,000 people visit a hospital for injuries due to self-harm each year.

With those challenging times came exciting moments, like the solar eclipse that caught our fascination and the first annual Summer of Service, recognizing the great work of our Values Award winners. From coast to coast, G4S teams and offices donated their time and money to great causes, like Habitat for Humanity, the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Relay for Life, and countless others. Thank you to everyone that participated.

G4S is here to help, providing all G4S employees and members of their household access to the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) at no cost to you. Behavioral health and emotional support services are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week online and by phone.

So as the holiday season hits its stride, I hope everyone is able to enjoy time with their families and friends. 2018 will be full of opportunity, and I look forward to experiencing that with all of you.

Beyond the EAP, the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline is a free and confidential support service providing support for people in distress, and prevention and crisis resources for you or your loved ones. The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline provides assistance to veterans, those suffering from disaster distress, support for those deaf or hard of hearing and in Spanish 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

VETERANS SPOTLIGHT

Hiding in Plain Sight For years, Bruce Wimmer protected assassination targets. Then, he had to heed his own advice.

B

ehind dark sunglasses, Bruce Wimmer surveys the scene. He’s driving his third different car this week, taking a road he’s seldom traveled before, but will take him to the same destination: Clark Air Base in Pampanga, Philippines. In gridlock traffic, Wimmer is a sitting duck. Cars have filled the roads while people walk through the streets, dodging the vehicles as if maneuvering a mine field. Be observant, keep a low profile, change your normal habits. He’s taught these practices to high ranking government officials dozens, if not hundreds, of times. He’s preached them and he’s demanded them. Now, he has to live them as an assassination target. For the past three months,Wimmer has had a bullseye on his back unlike anything he’s ever experienced, and boy has he experienced his fair share. He was in Vietnam in 1973 when the last United States troops left the country; he stood on top of the U.S. Embassy in Tegucigalpa, Honduras on April 7, 1988, when thousands of students marched on the Embassy, hoping to burn it down while protesting the expulsion of a drug kingpin to the United States; he stood in Berlin on Nov. 9, 1989 when the Berlin Wall finally fell and watched as 2 million people from East Berlin and West Berlin joined in “the greatest street party in the history of the world.” But here in the Philippines in 1991, it’s different. As a Commander in the Air Force Office of Special Investigations (AFOSI), Wimmer is now L to R: Bruce Wimmer; Phan Van Xoan Retired General with the target. The New Long Hai Security; Graham Potter, Client Relations, Long Hai People’s Army (NPA), Security; and Robert Dodge, Executive Vice President, G4S Corporate Risk Services the armed wing of the Communist Party of the Philippines, believes that if they can kill a leader of the Air Force’s federal law enforcement agency, they can send the message that they can get to anybody. “I’m used to being on the other side of it — protecting senior leaders. It’s harder to see why as a Lieutenant Colonel someone would try to kill me. I’m not that important,” Wimmer said. “A message came

6

in (from U.S. sources in the NPA) that they wanted to kill Colonel Wimmer. I said, ‘I am Colonel Wimmer.’ “You’re not ready for that. When it’s you, it’s a stunning reality.” For three months, Wimmer navigated through the streets of Pampanga alone with no security detail while the NPA attempted to track him down. He changed cars on a near-daily basis, from bulletproof government vehicles to rental cars. He changed the route he took, he changed which gate he entered the base through, he changed his entire schedule. He changed his life. “It’s pretty scary. I had to change my lifestyle and my way of thinking,” Wimmer said of knowing people are looking for you. “ Things that I taught senior leaders I had to employ myself. I had to be unpredictable and unknown amongst them because if I make a mistake and they do find me, I’m in deep trouble.” When Wimmer arrived at Clark Air Base, there were oftentimes teams from the NPA waiting outside the gate for him. “You’re really not thinking too deep of thoughts, you’re looking for reactions,” Wimmer said. “I just looked at their faces to see if I see a reaction, and be able to read that person if they recognized me.” They never did. All the while, Mt. Pinatubo had just erupted, covering the province in ash while clogging the streets. Subsequent rain led to flooding, and earthquakes caused buildings with heavy layers of ash to collapse. The U.S. military was pulling out, eventually leaving Wimmer as the last military member permanently assigned to Clark Air Base. But Wimmer never lost his focus on what truly mattered. “I had a family to go home to,” said Wimmer. “It wasn’t about me, it was about me coming back to my family. I’ve got a wife and daughter to get back to. I was determined to survive if at all possible.” Finally, the NPA redeployed their teams and gave up on Wimmer, just before he was given the heads up to go home. “For three months, everything was flipped upside down. On the tarmac (preparing for takeoff), I was praying. I had my fingers crossed saying, ‘can we just take off?’ I was just wishing to kiss the ground on the other side.” Now,Wimmer serves as a Senior Director for G4S Corporate Risk Services, again providing protection for individuals across the globe. “The nearly 22 years I spent in the military and what I do at G4S have a tremendous number of overlaps,” Wimmer said. “Dealing with criminals, terrorists and spies means the private sector faces the same threats I dealt with in the military. My leadership chain includes people with military experience and most of my colleagues have that or law enforcement backgrounds, so it is a comfortable match.”

The G4S Headquarters team during the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) Palm Beach County Light the Night walk inWest Palm Beach in November

In 2017, approximately 175,000 people were diagnosed with a blood cancer, around 10 percent of the more than 1.5 million new cancer diagnoses. Today, close to 1.3 million people in the US are either living with, or are in remission from, leukemia, lymphoma or myeloma. Despite the growing number of those affected by blood cancers, the survival rates are growing as well. From 2006-2012, survival rates for Myeloma, Hodgkin Lymphoma, Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma and Leukemia were 50 percent, 89 percent, 73 percent and 63 percent respectively. All of those survival rates are up from the 1970’s when survival rates ranged from 25 percent for Myeloma, to 72 percent for Hodgkin Lymphoma. The increasing survival rates are due in large part to advances in medicine and research, which have been helped by organizations like the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) and programs like their Light the Night walks that take place across the country. In 2017, G4S offices in Jupiter and San Francisco participated in Light the Night, combining to raise $13,636 for LLS. G4S first participated in 2016, when offices in Jupiter, Las Vegas and Louisville participated, raising funds while also supporting fellow employees battling cancer. In total, G4S has donated $18,877 to LLS. “G4S is excited to continue our partnership with LLS in West Palm Beach,” said Stanley Wilson, Sales Operations Analyst for G4S and the organizer of G4S’ Light the Night team in Jupiter. “LLS is dedicated to funding research, finding cures, and ensuring access to treatments for all blood cancer patients and we are honored to be part of those fundraising efforts to help those in need.” Are you active in the community or participating in community service efforts? Get to Know G4S

Get to Know: RISK360

G4S’ Incident and Case Management Software G4S continues to innovate and adapt to the ever-changing security industry landscape. In the past year, we’ve introduced new products designed to serve the needs of our clients. As we continue to innovate and deliver these products to the market, it’s important that you — the security personnel who use these tools — understands how they’re developed and how they can help you become better at your job. One of the new products that G4S launched in 2017 was the latest version of RISK360 incident and case management software. With this update customers are able to report, track, and resolve incidents while also managing staff, sites, and assets. While the new software is not in place with all of Secure Solutions (USA) customers, we wanted to share this update with you so you can see how it’s being used with some of our clients. G4S News reached out to Kami Dukes, Director of Business Development with AMAG Technology (a G4S company), asking her to provide some background on RISK360 and how customers who use it are saving time and money. Kami Dukes Director of Business Development AMAG Technology (A G4S Company)

Kami is the Director of Business Development for AMAG in North America where she and her team work closely with end users and the consultant community to drive new opportunities through roadmapping, specifying, and systems execution planning. During her five years with AMAG, Kami has worked in various capacities ranging from regional sales and business development to strategic accounts and capture management. Today Kami manages AMAG’s largest strategic accounts and spearheads the capture and bid

What is RISK360? RISK360 is a tool that allows our clients to manage, respond, investigate, and aggregate data. With a simple interface, they are able to analyze the data and make informed decisions, allowing them to optimize staffing, respond to events, and mitigate risk without increasing costs. The simple-to-use tool provides a cost effective solution that can be configured for individual customer needs. The data is streamlined so that customers can view the right data on any screen, including staffing levels, vehicles, locations, sites, events and other critical data. All of this is collected and configured so that customers can see their world of data in one place. What do G4S Security Officers need to know about RISK360? RISK360 was designed with our G4S Security Officers and other users in mind. We put great thought and care into this update to ensure each input was intuitive and easy-to-use, allowing security officers to quickly and easily capture meaningful data. We also simplified report writing by employing machine learning to assist with writing clean, informative reports that are relevant to a customer’s unique needs. For a hospital client, using RICK360 meant adjusting security protocols after learning that the security officer on site was called away from post 500 times in 30 days to unlock office doors. For an automotive corporation, RISK360 allowed them to add fire extinguisher monitoring to the security officer tours saving them $150,000. The data collected and tracked by RISK360 helps managers and clients analyze trends by location, time of day or other relevant data point, enabling security officers — and the entire security program — to become more proactive and predictive and less reactive. How was RISK360 developed? We designed Version 7 of RISK360 using the latest development, database and cloud technologies to ensure that the product worked across all interfaces. By using this modern technology and moving to a cloud-based solution, the database, servers, speeds and availability can grow as our customer does. The latest version is reliable and responsive and is designed to enhance the customer experience but also to make it easier for security officers and other users.

What is the greatest challenge facing clients and how does RISK360 address those challenges? There is a dizzying amount of valuable data in the world, but everyone is challenged with consuming the data in a meaningful and impactful way. It is hard to focus on the important when we are all overrun by the volume of the urgent. RISK360 helps streamline that data to eliminate the white noise and deliver impactful data in a consumable and meaningful format. For more information on RISK360 and what it is capable of, visit the RISK360 page on the G4S website here: wvw.g4s.us/RISK360

G4S In The News Keeping Data Centers Secure December 6

Joe Young from G4S Cloud and Enterprise Solutions talks about the new measures needed to secure the vital data essential for businesses and consumers around the world. In North America, home to the majority of the world’s technology giants, data centers have been a growing market for G4S. We have created a Secure Integration Center of Excellence for Technology on the west coast of the United States, which specializes in the corporate technology market, including security systems for our clients’ data centers. We adopt a risk-based approach for data centers, starting with a thorough assessment that first looks at what resources the client wants to protect and what risks they are protecting it from. Understanding the link between resources and risks allows us to develop a solution that helps prevent the risk, or assist in containing and recovering from the risk if it was to occur. G4S All Stars G4S Team Provides Assistance to Heart Attack Victim

G4S Security Officer Helps Woman In Need

On the left, a tweet sent by the woman helped by G4S Security Officer Cody Cotton (pictured right) G4S Security Officers Mark Labee and Alex Taylor

AUSTIN, Texas — Something didn’t seem right to G4S Security Officers Mark Labee and Alex Taylor. As they provided emergency care to an individual suffering from a heart attack, they felt that it was taking longer that it should for EMS to arrive, so they contacted 9-1-1 to ensure that assistance was on its way. They continued to work to ensure the victim was stabilized until emergency help arrived.

Shift Supervisor Robert Richardson Looked After CPO Cecil Bryant RICHMOND, Va. — G4S CPO Cecil Bryant didn’t feel right. He was dizzy and felt sick, so he called the control room asking for someone to stop by. Shift Supervisor Robert Richardson arrived and found CPO Bryant not breathing normally and slurring his speech, so he suggested that CPO Bryant allow him to call an ambulance. CPO Bryant refused, saying that he just wanted to drive home. But Richardson persisted, and eventually texted the control room asking for someone to call an ambulance. When medics arrived and assessed CPO Bryant, they suggested he go to the hospital, which he finally agreed to. Several hours later, CPO Bryant called the site, thanking Richardson and explaining that doctors told him that if he had gone home, he would not have survived the night.

ARLINGTON,Texas — As G4S Security Officer Cody Cotton sat at his post inside a client’s gate in Arlington, something seemed strange when a woman pulled up to the gate, exited her car, and began walking around it. Curious, Cotton got up and asked the woman what was wrong. She told him she had a flat tire, but didn’t have a car jack. Cotton immediately got a fellow security officer to cover his post while he went to his car, got his own jack, and changed the woman’s tire for her, allowing her to go on with her day, trouble-free.

CHICAGO — From a distance, G4S Supervisor Damien Hopkins saw a woman running his way. Behind her was a man, flashing gang signs and screaming. Seeking respite, she ducked through the hospital doors Hopkins stood post in front of while the man attempted to follow her inside, only to be stopped by Hopkins, prompting the man to try and flee. As he turned to run away, he was stopped again, this time by G4S USO Ceasar Fields. The G4S duo kept the man there until police arrived and he was arrested.
