Fort Wainwright, Fort Greely, and Seward Military Resort We serve over 40,000 authorized DoD ID Cardholders in the Fort Wainwright, Fort Greely, and Seward Military communities. The Family and MWR Commercial Sponsorship Program offers you the opportunity to present your company’s message in a variety of creative ways to our Army community. Sponsorship gives your business access to our Army community and helps you build goodwill, as well as, brand recognition among this loyal and growing market. By partnering with the Fort Wainwright and Fort Greely communities you are expanding our Family and MWR programs, events and services to a greater audience. Most activities and events operated by the Family and MWR organizations are eligible for sponsorship support. Family and MWR sponsorship is the financial or in-kind support of a Family and MWR program or activity, used primarily to achieve specified business goals. CHENA BEND CLUBHOUSE AND GOLF COURSE Chena Bend Clubhouse is home to the farthest north military golf course. The course has been ranked the #1 Golf Course in Alaska numerous times by “Golf Digest”. This world-class course features an 18-hole course, 24-hour driving range, putting green and sand bunker. The Chena Bend Clubhouse offers two state-of-the-art “aboutGolf” simulators, a fully stocked bar, quick-serve restaurant, pro-shop, and so much more. Chena Bend Golf Course is a favorite among Soldiers, Civilians, Retirees, and Family Members. Numerous advertising opportunities are available to reach those golfers at Chena Bend. Chena Bend averages over 15,000 rounds of golf each year. Just because there is snow on the ground does not mean that the fun times at Chena Bend Clubhouse have to end! While the greens may be closed for the season, there is still plenty to do, both inside and out. The Fort Wainwright community is able to practice their swing on our state-ofthe-art golf simulators or enjoy the scenic trails surrounding the Clubhouse with both cross-country ski and snowshoe rentals.
BIRCH HILL SKI & SNOWBOARD AREA Keeping the whole family busy and physically active during the long Alaskan winter, Birch Hill Ski and Snowboard Area offers skiing, snowboarding, and tubing for all ages and abilities. With snow-making capabilities, Birch Hill is typically the first hill to open in the interior and boasts the only night-skiing venue in the Fairbanks area. Birch Hill Ski & Snowboard Area has over 16,000 impressions per winter.
NUGGET LANES & BUFFALO BOWLING CENTERS Fort Wainwright’s Nugget Lanes Bowling Center is a premier bowling center in the community. Each event held at Nugget Lanes Bowling Center offers something fun for the whole family, like Bowling Leagues, themed bowling nights, and live music. Nugget Lanes offers people a place to come together with friends, for food, beverages, and, of course, fun! Nugget Lanes Bowling Center has over 60,000 visits every year. Tree Lighting Ceremony - December 2017 This annual family event begins with the lighting of the Post Holiday Tree. Hosted at both Fort Wainwright and Fort Greely, we offer many holiday activities including pictures with Santa, various children’s games, family building activities, performances, and other entertainment.

Information Fair The Information Fair is held on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month and occurs in conjunction with the Fort Wainwright Newcomers Orientation. The Newcomers Orientation is mandatory for all new Soldiers to Fort Wainwright. Spouses are highly encouraged to attend. The Information Fair portion of the day is set up expo style and is meant to be a “Welcome to Fort Wainwright and Fairbanks, Alaska” fair. Level 1 Level 1 includes a reserved exhibit space and table during the Information Fair and up to two representatives are allowed to attend the events. Level 2 With Level 2, your information will be displayed on a shared exhibit table during the Information Fairs. You will also have the opportunity to provide MWR with 30 seconds worth of artwork or a marketing video that will be played on rotate on the digital monitor that is next to the exhibit table.
BETTER OPPORTUNITIES FOR SINGLE SERVICE MEMEBERS FORT WAINWRIGHT - FORT GREELY - EIESLON AIR FORCE BASE - CLEAR AIR FORCE BASE
The mission of the Better Opportunities for Single Service Meberms (BOSS) program is to enhance the morale and welfare of single military personnel, increase rentention, and sustain combat readiness. The Fort Wainwright BOSS program provides networking, volunteer, and lesiure trip opportunities for single service members in the Interior of Alaska, to include Fort Wainwright, Fort Greely, Eielson Air Force Base, and Clear Air Force Base. BOSS is facilitated through three core compoenents aimed at maintaing a balance life: leisure and recreation, community service, and quality of life. In efforts to lower the “out-of-pocket� costs for eligible BOSS participants, the BOSS program conducts fundraising opportunities throughout the year heared towards lowering the cost that the Service Member must pay to attend a BOSS leisure and recreation trip. The BOSS program travels to places within Alaska such as Denali National Park, Seward, Valdez, and Anchorage; as well as outside the state to Florida, Las Vegas, and Hawaii...just to name a few! This year, the BOSS program has the opportuniity to cheer on their fellow Soldier during the world-wide Army MWR Esports Championship Series during PAX West in Seattle over Labor Day weekend. Fundraising efforts include, but are not limited to, providing food concessions during special events such as the Month of the Military Child Carnival, Fort Wainwright Softball Invitational, and Oktoberfest. BOSS will also offer food concessions during the weekly Family and MWR Adult Intramural Sports and Youth Sports Summer season. In addition to food concessions, fundraising efforts include a car smash, dunk tank, and other activites during special events.

In 2016, Family and MWR established the global series in an effort to optimize resiliency, readiness, and morale among Soldiers. The Army MWR Gaming Championship Series in 2016. The Army MWR Gaming Championship Series is a two-tier promotion that includes multigarrison Esports tournaments and a worldwide online giveaway. The Army MWR Gaming Championship Series Tournament allows for servicemen and servicewomen across the world the opportunity to play Esports games competitively and the chance to win prizes. Hosted through the Fort Wainwright Family and MWR website, the Army MWR Gaming Championship Series Online Giveaway is open to all MWR eligible participants, 18 years or older, across the Family and MWR Enterprise.
In the past, Family and MWR has partnered with Microsoft on the following eSports titles for the Army MWR Gaming Championship Series:
Historically, Family and MWR has given away airline miles, event t-shirts and jerseys, custom trophies, custom coins, custom Xbox consoles, custom Xbox controllers, video games, Xbox Live memberships, GAEMS Van Guard Mobile Gaming Systems, and other gaming related prizing. Since the launch, Family and MWR has hosted a Gears of War 4 tournament in November 2016 at 6 locations around the world, reaching a combined installation population of 520,000 authorized DoD ID Card Holders. The Gears of War 4 Online Giveaway promotion was advertised at 26 locations, reaching a combined installation population of 1.3 million authorized DoD ID Card Holders. During the second rendition in June 2017, a Halo Wars 2 tournament was hosted at 6 locations, reaching a combined installation population of 447,000 authorized DoD ID Card holders. The Halo Wars 2 Online Giveaway promotion was advertised at 17 locations, reaching a combined installation population of 1.2 authorized DoD ID Card Holders.
