Military & Family Readiness LET US INTRODUCE OURSELVES #WainwrightACS

GATEWAY TO EMPLOYMENT

Newcomers Orientation to Fort Wainwright

The Employment Readiness Program offers up-to-date resource information on available employment opportunities, market and job trends, education, and volunteer resources to help individuals make informed decisions when seeking employment. The Employment Readiness Program is offering several employment classes this winter including employment orientation, federal and private sector employment, and best practices for job interviews.

Orientations to be held November 16 and December 8

There can be a lot to learn when you first arrive at Fort Wainwright or are transitioning to another location. While Newcomers Orientation is mandatory for all Soldiers, Family Members are encouraged to attend the orientation and Information Fair in order to better understand Fort Wainwright and the surrounding communities.

WELCOME TO WINTER Prepare yourself for the cold

Orientations to be held October 13 and 27, November 17, and December 8 The Interior of Alaska can be a harsh environment; one where resiliency is key. Prepare yourself by attending a Welcome to Winter Orientation. These free orientations are open to everyone, and will help you understand the specifics to living and surviving an Alaskan winter. Specific topics include winter driving techniques, vehicle winterization, winter maintenance procedures, winter clothing choices, as well as health and wellness during the dark months.

ARMY FAMILY TEAM BUILDING TIME Are you ready to be the best person that you can possibly be? Join the Army Family Team Building Lunch and Learn Series in December to improve your social and professional skills.

Private Sector Employment Seminar

VOLUNTEERING Volunteer Management Classes Learn how to maximize your volunteer experience. Army Community Services and the Army Volunteer Corps is conducting a range of classes in October and December, catered towards the many facets of volunteering and volunteer management. Registration is required.

Community Showcase Thursday, November 22, 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. How can you —as an individual— make a difference? How do your actions multiply to create a world of good? Meet with local agencies from Fort Wainwright and the Fairbanks area to discuss community outreach and volunteer opportunities. The showcase will be at the Last Frontier Community Activity Center, and is open to everyone.
