This is a slam poetry event that adds a competitive edge to spoken word poetry. Slam teams and individual competitors from universities and colleges across the state of Florida will compete for the legendary Poet’s Cup, the chance to have their own feature show during our summer semester and a grand prize. They will abide by the National Poetry Slam Guidelines, and use judges who are major figureheads in the literary community. After three rounds of strong performances, the team and indie slam winners will be announced and celebrated. We have slam teams coming from Georgia State University, the University of Florida and Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University. Photo courtesy of Poetic Lyricism
