WHY HONORS? DIVISION OF UNDERGRADUATE STUDIES
ACCESS: Honors Coursework Special smaller Honors sections of innovative E-Series courses and other select liberal studies core courses of interest to Honors students. Center for Undergraduate Research and Academic Engagement (CRE) Honors students have direct access to the CRE which supports involvement in high-impact programs. Through their participation in research and creative endeavors, undergraduate students become better critical thinkers, innovators, and problem solvers. Two outstanding programs in CRE include: Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program (UROP) This program offers a rare opportunity for incoming Honors students to partner with our excellent faculty as research assistants (application deadline May 1, 2015 for incoming students).
Global Scholars Program The FSU Global Scholars program helps students secure summer internships at nonprofit organizations in developing countries around the world. Office of National Fellowships (ONF) Honors students have direct access to the Office of National Fellowships. In the last eight years, our students have won more than 140 nationallycompetitive awards, including three prestigious Rhodes scholarships, three Truman scholarships, seven Goldwater scholarships, eighteen Hollings scholarships, four Pickering fellowships, and sixty Fulbright grants.
ONF provides one-on-one mentoring and assistance to Honors students who are applying to nationally-competitive awards and fellowships.
HONORS PROGRAM
Jump-Start your Medical or Legal Career Challenge yourself to earn a place in the Honors Medical Scholars program or the Honors Legal Scholars program, pre-professional track programs only available to Honors students. Study Abroad Grants: Florida State has 20 study abroad locations around the world, and through the Honors program, you can apply for grants to help finance your study abroad. Conference Grants: As an Honors student, you are eligible to apply for grants to attend or present your work at professional conferences. Early or Priority Registration: Honors students have the privilege of being able to register for courses at the same time as seniors. Recognition: By completing the Honors program and/or Honors in the Major program, you can earn a prestigious Honors medallion at a special ceremony. In addition, your transcript will denote your Honors achievements.

Internationally Recognized Faculty: Honors professors invite undergraduate students into their laboratories, studios, and theatres – to learn, and also to become researchers and innovators at the highest level of scholarship. These instructors often become mentors to Honors students.
Honors, Scholars, and Fellows House: Our new Honors, Scholars, and Fellows House creates a welcoming community for our brightest, most hard-working students.
Great Peers: You’ll be a part of a community of accomplished, interesting, and gifted students from different backgrounds and majors who are intellectually inquisitive, creative, and engaging. Specialized Advisers: Experienced Honors advisers will help you find the best avenues to pursue your academic and professional goals. Mentoring and Support: Students will find the offices of the Honors Program, Undergraduate Research, and National Fellowships in the new Honors, Scholars, and Fellows House.

Honors-only Residence Hall: Honors students may apply to live in Landis Hall, located in the heart of campus and within close proximity to Strozier, the University’s main library.
