Take Your Travel Experience Further: The Hosted Trip Difference Unparalleled Service and Knowledge Every Step of the Way Dear Traveler, Golden dorado are quickly becoming one of the most coveted species in South America. Anglers find them in tropical and subtropical regions in Argentina, Bolivia, and Uruguay. The quest for this hard-hitting, ravenous, and acrobatic fish is addicting. Two of the top dorado destinations are Pira Lodge in the 3-million-acre Ibera Marsh and Suindá Lodge on the Upper Paraná River in northeastern Argentina. Barry and Cathy Beck will be hosting just eight anglers on their second “all dorado” excursion to Pira and Suindá Lodges. The first one was a smashing success! This departure will include both Pira and Suindá Lodges with a mid-week transfer between the two; however, the fisheries could not be more different. Pira Lodge is often heralded by returning guests as one of the nicest lodges in Argentina. Nestled in the heart of the Ibera Marsh, the Lodge has a wonderful swimming pool in front of the main house featuring Spanish style tile and terraces, both indoor and outdoor dining, and an ample bar to share fish stories. Well-appointed air-conditioned rooms are shady and cool, offering welcomed sanctuary from the mid-day warmth. The Iberia Marsh is a natural marvel, and birding clients of Frontiers have boasted that they consistently have their best days on the marsh. Here, we fish from Hell’s Bay skiffs in an Everglades fashion moving from marsh “lakes” to canals and down to the Corrientes River. Pira is the hallmark of pristine beauty and skiff fishing for Golden Dorado; nothing comparable exists. The Paraná River—in front of Suindá and upstream of Corrientes where it borders Paraguay—is large water broken up by many islands with white sand flats surrounding them and hundreds of miles of shoreline to cast to for large dorado. Across the river on the Paraguay side, the river braids into smaller channels and rivers with beautiful jungle verenza hanging down to the water hiding pacu, pira pita, and, of course, the golden dorado. Suindá Lodge is above the ground with hanging walkways connecting the elegant air-conditioned rooms to the main Lodge where all the action happens. The Lodge features a plunge pool to cool off and regional cuisine by noted Argentine chefs. Here’s to making their second “all dorado” hosted week just as successful as the first one! Sincerely,

Hank Ingram, Jr.

What to Expect •

This is a departure for just eight guests with Cathy and Barry Beck fishing for golden dorado, pira pita, and pacu in two unique northeastern sub-tropical Argentine fisheries.

Each Lodge offers double occupancy, air-conditioned rooms with en suite bath, seasoned guides in custom skiffs/boats, fine Argentine cuisine and wine, and a tenured staff.

About the Lodges

Pira Lodge: Located in Argentina’s northern Corrientes Province, Pira enjoys a tropical “Floridian” climate. Returning anglers repeatedly label it one of the world’s top accommodations. Surrounded by the vast 3-million-acre Ibera Marsh, Pira offers anglers crystal-clear waters ideal for sight-fishing for cruising dorado with top-water floating lines, a technique that produces explosive, heart-stopping strikes. Suindá Lodge: The newly constructed riverfront destination offers fly fishing guests unmatched, warm-water Argentine species diversity from a river-access-only Lodge. The seven-acre property is located in Corrientes Province on the legendary Paraná River—the border of Argentina and Paraguay. In this tropical province, the Paraná flows, controlled well below the Yacyretá Dam. The river is rich with species along high flora-shrouded banks, vast sand bars, islands that create deltas, and smaller riachos or braids.
