Take Your Travel Experience Further: The Hosted Trip Difference Unparalleled Service and Knowledge Every Step of the Way Dear Traveler, Intricate Bay Lodge is a Frontiers guest favorite and for good reason. This newly built sophisticated lodge was designed to be highly functional without sacrificing the feel of an Alaskan lodge. The previous lodge sadly burnt to the ground in 2014 and was replaced with this stunning beauty. The lodge sits in a protected cove on the eastern shore of Alaska’s largest lake, Lake Iliamna. The Lodge is located 190 miles southwest of Anchorage and is accessible only by aircraft. The flight between Iliamna and Anchorage takes about an hour. We will be targeting early season rainbow trout and this area is known for its fantastic dry fly fishing along with skating mouse patterns for heavy shouldered rainbows. When it comes to fishing for large rainbow trout, Alaska holds the crown for the world’s marquee fisheries. The rivers in the lake Iliamna drainage in the Bristol Bay/Katmai region are considered the very best for rainbow trout, especially on dry flies. Not to fear, our conventional gear angling guests will have super trout fishing as well. We may fish famous rivers including the Moraine, Funnel, Battle, American Rivers, also Kvichak River, New Halen River and Talarik River. Of course, the Copper and Gibraltar are the most famous, especially when targeting rainbow trout. It’s also King Salmon season and we may target Kings as much or little as guests choose. We will fly out to various King salmon rivers like the Nushagak and Alagnak to name a couple famous ones. The small 10 guest maximum also allows for a much more fluid fishing schedule and it’s easier for the pilots and guides to adjust fishing locations based on angler preference, fishing conditions, and weather. We will relax in style at this stylish lodge that provides both local and fly out fishing trips. Rated as one of the top 3 lodges in Alaska in 2017, you’ll discover where personal service and years of Alaska experience are as important as your comfort. You will experience unrivaled attention as a guest, along with all the amenities you’d expect in a fine hotel like private en-suite bathrooms, wireless internet and satellite TV. Despite its remote location, the lodge has 24-hour electricity, courtesy of an eco-friendly inverter system that reduces generator use. I hope you consider joining this wonderful trip to experience the best rainbow fishing you may have in your life and enjoy the amazing adventures available from the lodge. Sincerely,

Tom Gilliland Alaska Program Manager

What to Expect

• This is a top notch Alaska luxury lodge. Expect ample opportunities for surface action including dry fly and skated mouse patterns for aggressive rainbows. We’ll also pursue dime bright King salmon if interested. Dolly varden and grayling also available in this week. Spin fishermen are welcome at the lodge. • Double occupancy rooms with private bath/shower are the standard accommodation. This allows full privacy and comfort with plenty of room to store your gear. This will be your private sanctuary for the week. The lodge has special use permits for the Togiak National Wildlife Refuge and Wilderness Area. Fish where few others have ever wet a line. • Flyout fishing experiences at a multitude of the best early season rainbow trout rivers in the region. We can do daylong float trips, walk and wades on small hidden streams, fish for King Salmon on two of the best regional rivers either on the fly or with conventional tackle. Guests may opt for a leisure activity day like visiting Brooks Falls for bear viewing.
