Those searching for the largest sea-run brown trout in the world covet a single rod at Villa Maria, which is sold out to capacity annually. An intact week with five open rods is unheard of. But Barry and Cathy Beck will host five anglers March 13-20, offering single rooms for each guest and private access to the lower reaches of the fabled Rio Grande in Tierra del Fuego, Argentina. Since their introduction into the Rio Grande in the 1960s, brown trout are one of the world’s greatest angling success stories. Needing more sustenance, the fish adapted and swam from the fresh water into the cold southernmost reaches of the Atlantic Ocean. Consuming the prolific biomass of the ocean, the trout grew to immense size and now hold the great honor of being the largest sea-run brown trout worldwide. Unlike many anadromous fish, the searun brown trout of the Rio Grande migrate between the fresh water and sea many times during their life increasing the population and size of the fish. Villa Maria is the pinnacle fishery of sea-run brown trout on both two handed and single handed rods, angler’s preference. The Rio Grande is a moderate-size river and relatively short in distance, running from Chilean Tierra del Fuego through Argentina. Of all the lodges in Tierra del Fuego, Villa Maria is the closest to the river and the nearest to where the river meets the sea, thus ensuring that each and every fish coming into the system must pass through her waters on its way to the upper spawning grounds. Wednesday, March 11
Depart United States via overnight flight service to Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Thursday, March 12
Arrive Buenos Aires, Ezeiza International Airport. Upon arrival, a Frontiers arranged guide will meet you just outside the customs area and provide your transfer to the Loi Suites Hotel, where you will check into your prepaid accommodations for one night. Spend the remainder of the day at leisure in Buenos Aires; all meals are on your own, overnight accommodations at the hotel.
Friday, March 13
At a prearranged time, a Frontiers arranged guide will meet you at the hotel, provide your transfer to the J. Newbery Domestic Airport and assist you with check-in for your flight to Ushuaia. Depart Buenos Aires via commercial flight service to Ushuaia. Arrive Ushuaia. Upon arrival at the airport, your host and guide will meet you and drive you approximately 3.5 hours to Villa María Lodge. Upon arrival, have time to unpack and rest after your journey. Enjoy the lodge environment, and ready your tackle for fishing to come.
Saturday, March 14 - Thursday, March 19
Enjoy six full days of fishing for big sea-run brown trout on the Río Grande River. In the evenings, return to Villa María for cocktails, dinner, and overnight accommodations.
Friday, March 20
In the morning, a Frontiers arranged guide will drive you to the Río Grande Airport and assist with check-in for your flight to Buenos Aires. Depart Río Grande via commercial flight service to Buenos Aires. Arrive Buenos Aires, J. Newbery Domestic Airport. Upon arrival, a Frontiers arranged guide will meet you just outside the baggage claim area and provide your transfer to the Ezeiza International Airport to connect home or overnight and continue the adventure with Cathy and Barry Beck at Tecka Lodge. *Itinerary subject to change

Inclusions: All-inclusive fishing arrangements (accommodations, all meals, cocktails, beer and wine with dinner, land transportation as required, and guide services); transfer to and from Rio Grande Airport. Exclusions: Local fishing licenses and permits; transfers and meals where not indicated; tourist and departure taxes; special transfers; extras (room service, telephone calls, tips, alcoholic beverages except where specified by individual lodge operators, etc.); single transfer supplement; airfare. Deposit payment refund policy: A non-refundable deposit of 50 percent of the land cost is due at time of reservation. Balance payable at time of final land package invoicing. Full/final payment is also non-refundable unless client replacement is provided.
