What is QuickStart Tennis? QuickStart Tennis is a new format to help children 10 and under learn and play the game of tennis. Balls are lower in compression so they bounce lower and don’t move as fast – making them easier to hit. This allows kids time to get to the ball and helps them develop optimal swing patterns. Rackets are sized for small hands, and the courts are smaller and easier to cover. Full-sized courts can be reconfigured to accommodate up to six 36-foot courts so kids can spend their time playing instead of waiting in line.

What’s that racket?

QuickStart Red Stage uses an oversized, lower compression red ball that is easier to hit with a lower bounce. Participants learn racket and ball control, sending and receiving with a partner, rally skills on a 36foot court and short-format competitive games. Players need to bring their own racket. A make-up class will be offered Friday at the original time of class if both classes are missed in one week due to weather. Evening and weekend program cancellations due to weather will be made up.
