Community-wide Garage Sale

Scout groups, church groups, e! students, friends and families are invited to help spruce up local parks by picking up litter and more. What a great opportunity to celebrate Earth Week. Call 630-9664555 to volunteer. (DS)

This one-day event is open to e! volunteers who would like to help beautify their communities. Join park District greenhouse crews at select sites to put the trowels and shovels to dirt and plant a variety of annuals and perennials, then enjoy the natural beauty all season long! (HW)

Sellers and buyers—save the date for this popular spring event! Sellers get two 9-by-18-foot parking spaces and one 8-foot table plus advertising to bring plenty of buyers to the event. Buyers get free admission for one-stop shopping with up to 35 garage sales in one location. Proceeds from rental spaces go toward the Creative Play preschool program at the Prisco Community Center. Save the Dates! Mid-American Canoe & Kayak Race Experience the excitement of paddling the scenic Fox River while enjoying this classic tradition that dates back to the 1960s. Paddlers of all ages and abilities are welcome. Two race lengths are offered – with start lines in St. Charles (10 miles) and Batavia (6 miles) – both finishing with a post-race lunch party and awards ceremony at McCullough Park. Pre-race pickup from 5:30 to 8 p.m. on Friday, May 31, and from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, June 1, at Prisco Community Center. (JI) Age
