La troisième édition du festival EcransMed (EM3), qui se tiendra du 10 au 21 mai 2014, offrira une brise méditerranéenne aussi captivante que vitale. Avec une sélection de cinéastes de 17 pays, émergents tout autant que primés internationalement, la programmation de ce festival montréalais affirme davantage la vivacité de la création du court métrage et de l’art vidéo et leur positionnement comme une expression cinématographique à part entière. 27 courts métrages de 14 pays du bassin méditerranéen, 7 projets d’art vidéo venant de 7 pays différents, et EM2.2 : une collection de films projetés lors d’EcranMed-1 et EcranMed-2 toutes ces œuvres d’exception ainsi que des événements et autres projections dans plusieurs espaces publics. La programmation principale se tiendra à la Cinémathèque québécoise pendant que les projets d’art vidéo + EM2.2 seront accueillis au MAI (Montréal, arts interculturels) et d’autres événements se déploieront dans plusieurs espaces publics (station de métro, parcs, etc.)

iBad C’est l’histoire de trois jeunes filles palestiniennes qui ont échangé la perspective d’un mariage immédiat pour une vie marquée par les ordinateurs portables et les médias sociaux. Le film nous entraîne dans leur quotidien partagé de colocataires, et montre leur indépendance sans se moquer de la tradition.
The Street Artist C’est le portrait d’un artiste local qui a fait de l’une des vieilles rues de Ramallah son atelier. Son art reflète la diversité de sa ville et ses dessins l’âme et la bizarrerie des passants.
Abu Rami Mona, âgée de 65 ans, est frustrée par la mauvaise humeur de son mari chauffeur de taxi Abu Rami et est en proie à des doutes sur sa fidélité. Pendant qu’ils roulent à travers le Liban pour visiter leur fils, la vieille voiture tombe en panne et le vieux couple est bloqué. Les tensions montent et Mona confronte Abu Rami avec ses soupçons.

The third edition of EcransMed festival (EM3) will take place between May 10 and 21 2014, featuring a selection of internationally renowned and award-winning emerging young filmmakers from 17 Mediterranean countries: Bosnia & Herzegovina, Croatia, Cyprus, Egypt, France, Greece, Italy, Lebanon, Libya, Malta, Montenegro, Morocco, Palestine, Spain, Syria, Tunisia and Turkey. The event offers screenings of exceptional productions including 27 short films from 14 different countries of the Mediterranean basin, 7 video art projects from 7 different countries, plus EM2.2: a collection of films previously screened at EcranMed-1 and EcranMed-2, in addition to multiple public screenings in several outdoor and indoor spaces. The Short Films Program will be held at the Cinématheque québécoise, while the Video Art Program, plus EM2.2, will be hosted by the MAI (Montréal, arts interculturel.) Other events will take place in different public spaces around Montreal.
The entire program is presented free of charge.
